Under carriage washing - Click HERE for Original Thread

~30oZ~
does anyone know of a place that does this here in the city? I mean well too, like in the wheel wells and such.

you can do it ... just be prepared to get dirty, put on some coveralls, put your car on jack stands. Or better yet if you know someone that has a hoist. And stary washing.

Quite a few of the touchless car washes do, but most of them don't work. the Esso on Stoney and 160th or whatever does.. but ya gotta make sure it's working.. ask about it.. try it if it doesn't work complain, they'll give you a free wash for later.

I could see those helping when starting with a new car or totally clean undercarriage. If you made a routine of using the undercarriage spray to maintain the cleanliness then it might be alright. But I can't see those systems helping much for an undercarriage that is already got years of caked on filth and grim. Good luck.

I would think you'd need some strong solvents or degreasers to get a 10+ year old dirty undercarriage clean again. :dunno:

My car is an 87 and it's not that bad underneath, and It's never been done that I know of.

Never been done meaning you've never washed it before, or what?

I don't thinkthe undercarrage has been intentionally washed.. Itried once.. but the damn things didn't work.. hense how I know about the esso. I think it's only been poor man washed - puddles

You can ask CT or any garage with a hose or auto detailers to do it for you. It's about $40.

I've heard too many horror stories about CT and working on cars...never mind just putting them on the hoist.

Lol... I have a friend that works for CT.. he's pretty good on balancing the center of gravity with vehicles, but yeah, he's seen a couple fall off.. mainly trucks falling off the front cause some green tire buster parked it too far forward, put the arms to far back and didn't use the little feet to raise the front end up a little more than the back.
