Interior cleaning - Click HERE for Original Thread

Whats the best way to clean out your interior, like all the dust n stuff sitting on the dash, is the good ol way of water n a cloth good or are there better ways?

Thanks

qualthar
Try using a damp cloth with some mild soapy water.

It'll work fine Unless you have any really big stains and stuff on the dash. You could go out and buy some of the 'dash wipes', but then you'd have to spend money. Nobody wants that

I like to put a bit of plastic protector on a Swiffer. Picks up the dust and treats the plastic all in one go. And it's way better than the "whipes" in the tube that always dry out before you can use it.

This also works really well for leather.

1) Roll down your windows, sunroof, etc
2) Use the blower port on a shop vac or a compressor and blow every crack and vent out
3) Once everything settles, Grab warm soapy water and a few cloths and wipe everything that can get wet
4) Go over it again with clean warm water and a few clothes
5) Allow to dry or wipe dry
6) Use Armour All or whatever you please for a nice shine
7) Vacuum the carpet and seats

Alot of steps and work but I've always gotten decent results out of my homemade method.

my dash is textured (mazda 3) i used armour all on it and it left blotchy grease stains on my dash... now i need a way to clean that off and then to clean my dash without leaving stains!

I've used it in every vehicle I've owned, and they've all had a textured dash and door panels. If you pour the shit on it'll get in the grooves, but if you just put a small amount on a rag and rub it on it leaves a beautiful protective shine. I've seen some Armour All disasters where you basically slide right off the door panel if your holding your arm out of the window hahaha.

but its not a shiny material.. its wierd its like a dull plastic i dunno its something youd have to see i guess.. its not supposed to shine i dont think ahah

If too much if left yes it does.

Lots of folks dont realize you put the dressing on let it kick in then buff it off. If its a rough surface try using a spray method and use way to much then let sit for 10 minutes then buff off the excess.
