Sk tools sells these things called turbo sockets for what you want to do, look under impact sockets, then they are called turbo sockets.

The guy that sells them is a Mac dealer, his name is Kenn, his number is 445-0371. his price will be cheeper then whats on the website, if its in Edmonton he can get the tool to you that day. |

| If you have a internal drive lug. There are realy only 2 stlyes out there. The first one any regular 3/8 rachet head will fit tightly in the hole and you can remove easy. If they are the Allen drive style then stop by any place that sells tools and buy a 12MM allan socket. Then your done. |

Hi Keith,
I have thought long and hard about posting to this reply due to the potential impact and knowledge that it will reveal. I have decided to inform you that there is a tool out there made specifically for removing wheel locks effectively and efficiently. This product is called "Locking Wheel Nut Remover" by Difflock. Here is the link with all the details and sizes.
http://www.difflock.com/buyersguide...t_remover.shtml
I stumbled accross it after my buddy and I had busted his wheel lock key when we went to remove his summer rims and install the winter rims last year. Fortunately we did not need it as we were able to track down another identical key. Had we not been successfull at locating the key, this would have been ordered. Inregards to the shipping here is a partial transcript from the email I had received a long time ago directly from Difflock. "We ship worldwide using airmail which typically takes 3-5 working days but can take up to 10 days in remote regions. To date we have never lost a packet sent overseas."
Hope this helps.

Hi newaccorddriver,
Really???? I will need to check them out. If this is correct, and they are similar or equal to the difflock product, then this would save on shipping costs and also have potentially better pricing.
Thanks for sending that info along!

NAPA carries the exact same thing under a differant name. I bought 4 differant ones for $50.00.

i was at princess auto today looking for a 32mm 6 point socket which they didnt have and a 1/2 torque wrench which they didnt have. in the process of looking for them i stumbled upon that lock nut remover thing. didnt check the price though, but i wouldnt mind picking up a set for my personal use, i dont have locks on my tires:rolleyes:  |

Hi newaccorddriver and Downtown Focus
These are the ones that will fit directly overtop of the lock and thread counter clockwise bitting into the lock?
The downside to the difflock is they do exactly what I mentioned above. This will mar the outside of the wheel lock.
If so then it looks like that would be a good place to get them. :D
newaccorddriver, check Sears, Partsource and Canadian Tire for your 32mm 6 point socket. Home Depot and Revy may have them too. I found a set of metric and imperial stubby wrenches at Home Depot earlier in the year for next to nothing! :D

heh, i looked at the package looks like it would work by gripping onto the socket, kinda like the bolt removers i used earlier last month to do my exhaust system. pretty much the same thing, i read the instructions and it said you should probably use a ratchet, but if your using an air ratchet, you should keep it below 90psi. Downtownfocus said NAPA sells the same thing with a different name for $50, im willing to bet some money that princessauto will sell it for less. princess auto probably buys it in bulk and doesnt have a huge name behind their products, so they can sell things for less... MUCH less. great example would be the metric wrench set i bought off them earlier, drop forged stuff from 6mm-19mm, best $6 i spent yet. sale for it ended already, but i smashed the wrenches with hammers and such trying to remove bolts, they didnt shatter or anything. the difflock and the thing i saw there are probably the same thing(or with minor variations), they both get the job done, but the one i saw is a generic brand without the advertising to back it up. if i lost my key, id try that first before i go order expensive overseas stuff...
as for the 32mm socket, princess auto carried plenty of 32mm 12 point sockets which are useless to me. sears had a non-impact version of it for $12, i guess i should have went to crappy tire and gotten one for $14... i was there earlier today too... |
