wow, thats practically double the current price. why are you expecting/predicting such a price hike anyways? i figured it would be like $0.20 at most, but i could be wrong

mitsubitchy
who comes up with the hurricane names...

katrina and rita are ugly names

rita sounds like a fat girl name hence the size of the hurricane? lol?

crazyrx7
Notice that all of the huricanes have been named after women. Now thats food for thought.

night_font
hahah rita does sound like a fat girls name. since two diff hurricanes hit Dallas and the gulf coast, it has of course put the gas refineries out of commission (don’t know the correct technical term, lol) so in turn they are not making gas for us( sure what ever????), I guess. so in return we and all of north America will pay more...in the US I know that it will hit $5.00US/PER GALLON sometime in the next week...don’t get me wrong, I am just assuming this...but the price will be going up at least 20 cents here, my guess. 2 bucks is quite high I have to say so my self.

exactly what i thought, $2/L is too much for just a single price hike, $0.20 is more resonable, even $0.30, but $1 all at once and we'd probably have ALOT more gas theft going on

THE SHITTY THING IS THAT PPL ARE COMPLAING ABOUT THE GAS GOING UP CAUSE OF THE HURRICANE AND THEIRS PPL DIEING AND STARVING
:bs:

Honda_Finatic
on the msn website they was saying some places reached about $1.80 already cuz of these hurricanes threatening the oil supply in texas. I'm thinking here in alberta... we can expect to see $1.50/L . I'm pretty pissed..... i've gone from paying high insurance rates cuz i was under 25.... to paying sky high just for a tank of gas. WTF!!!!! can't a guy catch a break?!

dc2696
its $2/L on the east coast already...hurray for diesel..oh wait it how much cheaper,

PraxGTI
Hooray for hurricanes!

Maybe the US will be prepared this time? Maybe next time they get an evacuation notice 24 hrs in advance they will actually move thier asses.

I thought that was retarded with katrina. Those people in N.Orleans were warned that they should evacuate.. but some of those dumb fucks stayed back to protect their stuff..... obviously, they ended up dead... but what were they thinking? they can fend off the hurricane with a stick? :dunno:

mitsubitchy
The people that stayed were majority like black people. They say they have like no money or anything to leave to go somewhere else so they practically stayed behind and die with their current property. Whats better still living or not living....

scooby_dooby
It hit $1.85 in MTL yesterday, fill up boys...

Huricane "Andrew"

I was watchng this thing on Global Nation all the PM's called the oil producers in canada to this meeting they were all yelling at each other about the prices. The Pm's were asking why such a huge hike they were blaiming it on taxes other companys and all saying that there not making any more money due to higher oil prices. I call Bull shit. It cost me just over $70 to fill the tank in the FD now its going to cost me $140 ??? im glad winter is comming.

oldraven
I knew an Ivan once. She was one ugly hairy bitch...... with a really deep voice.

As for Rita....... good ol' Rita. She just keeps on getting bigger and bigger. (all appologies to any Capers reading this)

*edit*
Damn, I didn't even read JustinL's post! I'm so not original.:(

ehos
3 Days notice and people STILL waited for the last minute to leave.

Good... AND, did you see the highways? Jammed. Yet it took them another 12+ hours to open the EMPTY lanes.

Stupid.

Have any of the refineries been seriously damaged yet? Didnt it say in the Journal most refineries down there are built to withstand a low cat 4? And Rita is a cat 3 now right?

That $2 a Litre was complete bullshit, to get us all to go out and fill up, as usual. It never went above $1.11 in Nova Scotia, except a few places in halifax that got greedy, fell for the rumour (I wonder who would start that one), and put their prices up above $1.80 for a little while, jumping the gun.

The worst thing is I heard on the news yesterday morning (CityTV again) that gas on the East Coast was already over $2. It's nothing new, but news agencies should at least TRY to confirm these stories.

Damn, someone got payed yesterday.

Shady_Pro
its not all fun and games when you have family down there:thumbup:

Cobra_R
We need a hurricane name like Jordan:drama:

oldraven
I think the next one should be Hurricane Howie.
