Coincidence... or Not... Z32 TT HELP! - Click HERE for Original Thread

MixManMash
I was driving along the other day when the stock boost guage quit on me (when the car is off, the guage is all the way towards negative - vacuum, when the car is on, the guage is stuck just little past 0 - boost side).

I noticed then when I stop, the idle is doing some pretty wacko things. It will idle at about 750 RPM for 10 seconds, then it will go up to 1100 for a few seconds, and then it might drop down to 750 and the further to 500 RPM and then pick up.

Quite erratic.

No check engine light and I haven't done an ECU Diag just yet.

Any hints would be much appreciated. I am a novice ~ intermidiate at car repairs so details would definetely help!

Thanks again.

Did some further reading and it might be a boost/vacuum leak. Anybody have the hardware/know-how on how to check for a boost leak?

MixManMash
lol. I feel like a retard now....

Turns out the the vacuum hose going from the passenger side over to the boost sender was disconnected by the passenger side.

All is clear now.

lol.

lol, lucky you... still, check codes just for fun.

MixManMash:

Isn't it suppose to be all the way towards negetive vacuum when off?:dunno: mine is, and it only moves to positive when i give it gas and then back to negetive when i lift off the gas? is my car broken lol?

MixManMash
the operation you described is correct. It should be in negative until you build up enough speed on your turbo's to get it up to the positive range.

Simple, had the same problem, look for anything unpluged by the brake master cylinder. That vacum line runs across the backof the motor and takes a mean 90 degree turn around the brake master cyliner. I would put a quarter on it that is your problem.

Best Regards,
