So I`m debating about the car cover.
Just called Cover Craft, and they quoted me $290 USD (Inlcuding shipping) Plus duties and customs.
My car is my baby, but that is alot of cash. I already have a cloth cover that I will use. But why not just buy like 5 tarps and wrap the car similar to how the car cover would?
I think I pretty much made up my mind, and I think I might be getting too anal about it. First winter, I`m an amatuer! |

Jeebus, which car cover were you specifying? Are you getting one for outdoor/all-weather?
My indoor DUSTOP cover from Cover Craft was only (LOL) about ~$130 USD. |

Hey Ajit.
We parked the '86 outside last winter.
I used one bought from Partssource big enough to cover a truck and tucked it under the car. Was about $100. Buy the one that lets the paint "breathe" (dual or triple layer Tyvex). Make sure you remove the battery. Spend a good amount to time covering it all around right the first time.
My friend has been parking his '69 Dart 10 second track car outside for the last five years or so with the same cover as we used, and he still has absolutely no paint problems (fade) and no rust.

| What is the outside material made of? |

The Company is called "Covercraft". You can find them at partsource, canadian Tire and such. The outside is grey. The material itself is called "Tyvex"

Price?
How does it hold up in snow?
MR2 will be parked outside, uncovered. |

Price: about $100 for the truck sized one.
Hold up in snow: That's what it's designed for. For any environment. Won't let UV through. Won't let moisture through. But will let paint "breathe".

| just make sure u tie the thing down u don't wnat it coming free with little wind and block off all access point into the interior anything larger than a 1/2 diamenter hole is going to be the entrance door to a mouse and get some rodent posion and put it inside teh car make it is not habitable to small mammals |

Is this Rahul?
Yeah I will make sure no rodent comes in there. I heard by shaving a soap bar around the interior, it keeps animals out!
Gonna lay down plastic on the interior, then cover it in the soap |

Went to crappy tire alst nite:
Simoniz - $100
Simoniz Pure - $160
Couldn`t really figure out the difference. Might opt for the more expensive one casue it was a little bit thicker. I would assume that it would hold up against snow a little bit better too. |

I bought mine at wall mart and it cost about 60$. I'm pretty happy with it as after it rains there is a big pool of water over my engine cover and trunk, while after I take it off my car is completely dry. It hasn't snowed thankfully so I don't know how it will hold up, but it's great in the rain. I got the smallest size, and it's a little small so you should consider getting one of the larger sizes, so it will wrap around the bottom. Be careful to tie it down tight when parking outside because I heard that a loose cover can act like sandpaper.
This is if you want something cheaper

Thanks for the info. I think I am gonna get the one for $160. Its a little bit heavier so it`ll stay down better. Mine is gonna be parked outside, uncovered, so I need something that will hold up well.
What size did u get? They measure there's from bumper to bumper, so I am thinking either 13'-14' or possibly the next size up, which I think is 15'-16', but don`t quote me. |

I first picked up the cover up to 14ft which is a small but it only covered like 3/4 of my car and my side skirts weren't covered so i picked up a medium and it fits alittle to big but i can wrap it around underneath my car so it works good just some information for you on making your choice... Cheers happy parking :dunno:  :p |
