| i dunno i don't think any factory car would hold up to that kind of slalom at 160 mph |

| Wow the cops must have some pretty soupped up cruisers up there to all be following this giu without trouble at a supposed 165mph speed. I really doubt that the speed of the Corvette at the captured video was 165 mph....I really don't think those cruisers would be able to keep up like that....I'd say some creative journalisim is to blame for that speed number... |

There not supercharged but they do rip pretty damn hard.
Seen many of them in our shop over the years. |

When sport compact car tested the police interceptor it ended up performing worse in every benchmark compared to the civilian crown vic. Police versions of cars are designed to be more heavy duty/ reliable, they need to be able to hop curbs and idle for hours on end. They have HD suspensions ,cooling systems, etc.
Now the caprice 9c1 is a cop car, it puts the crown vic to shame with it's big 5.7l lt1, similar lt1s were found in the vette and the f-bodies.
When speed is needed departments use , or at least did, 9c1 camaros and interceptor fox body mustangs. IIRC, the rcmp had a couple stangs, ive seen some x-rcmp one for sale. |

I once asked a cop at a BBQ if the edmonton police cruisers are souped at all and he said they are bone-stock performance-wise..
now highway patrol cars are probably tuned... they'd have to be... |

| Well to coquihala in BC is the best example that normal cop cars cant keep up to those speeds. They got Power to get going but nothin like a vette they can do like 100mph but for the Coq , they have Camaros and actually 2 Porche 911 turbos that ive seen. Those do the high speed pursuit. When that guy crashed tops was 100mph , because helicopters top speed is around 160 ish , i belive its 140-160 dependingly. Either way another example of american muscle + stock suspension + stupid driver = crash |
