And about five years behind the news. ;)
It has four turbos, four intercoolers, and four ECM's. It has been trying to sell the 1001hp figure ever since, but never seems to make it to market. 987hp must be SAE Certified, because it's the first sub K power figure I've seen yet. Interesting, it's 300cc's smaller than the Viper V10, but makes nearly double the power. Continuously variable camshafts and 64valves. Picture a head gasket/valve job on that puppy.
This thing is supposed to go 406kph, and has tires rated for 400. 265's up front and 365's out back. Got grip? :D 0-300kph in under 14 seconds. Those are your eyeballs in the back of your head.
The last concept had 15 diamonds mounted in its instrument cluster. Should I trade in the TC? :)

Not really. The point of the post and article is that the car is finally available. If you have a shit load of spare money, you can buy one now. |

| Well only reason we bitch about being behind schedule is they promised a timeline and missed it. For really long time tho there issue wasn't the power it was dealin with it. IE clutch and tires. So yeah, its cool its finally out but its like the mclerean F1 ( granted doesn't have gimp seatin like the F1, common with that ride u want the hottest possible girl next to you ) But at the same time the appeal is lost because its so far out of the reach of the daily person :( still a dream car but i wish they would come out with something toned down :D |

| It's nice, but I think if I had that kind of money I'd buy a Ferrari 430 for the snatch car, then a nice twin turbo viper coupe. |

not quite man. the 4 turbo's are for acceleration, the displacement is where the power comes from. dont get me wrong, i'm not saying the turbo's dont help make that power. its just not the reason there is 4 turbo's. |

It's a good thing they didn't have anything to do with the Veyron then. :)
Bugatti is Italian, and owned/designed by VWAG. |

I'd like to know what 0-300kph in under 14 seconds feels like. I wonder if vision would start to distort. |

You mean to tell me a 8L, W16 does not accelerate? the car weights 4500 lbs. (by the writeup saying the engine and transmition weight 1400lbs, almost 1 therd its weight) And you need to put 4 turbos on it to get it moving? An engine with that kind of rod ratio will not make much tq, turbos are need to give it some power, and it has t-4 turbos, one of these properly sized to a 2L engine will make 500hp so you see where im comming from. Turbos on that style of engine are needed to make some big power. |

Hehehehe
Ettore Bugatti is Italian designer (lived in France)
Bugatti owned by VW.
Veyron made in France.

The history of bugatti is actually quite interesting.....
...but like I said.
France should stick to wine and cooking.... The complexities in this car is not something I would trust coming from France. |
