What's with some of you guys? Today I was driving down 34ave back to my work and I came a cross a 300ZX gold in color and I decided to give him a little friendly wave. (He was next to me, in the left lane) so what does the driver do? He looks at me and gives me a look like what the fu*k are you looking at and speeds off.... I thought that was a little rude. Maybe because at the time I was driving a car from my work (New STI) lol

BUT...

2 weeks ago I saw a Red 300ZX TT exactly like mine driving past south common and I decided to wave at him too (I was also driving my 300 at the time as well) what does he do? Look straight at me and look away after I wave to him? WTF? Do people not like other Z cars waving at them? When I was driving my Z around and I saw someone wave at me in another Z (older one 88 I think) I figure that's nice of him to wave at me so I smile and wave back.:dunno:

I always hear of people talking about how they always see the same model of car or make like RX7's, Supra's, STI's, etc. and they wave and smile whatever and always get a friendly smile or wave back.

My point.... WHERE IS THE LOVE!!!!! maybe it's just those 2 guys lol:) all it takes is something so simple to make some one's day a little better then it is.

anyways, rant mode off :)

PraxGTI
hmmm...

when I had my RX-7 I always nodded and/or commented in other peoples RX-7's. Always got back respect.

:dunno:

Give it time... don't give up on it.

Depends on the person, and how their day is going too.

Even I tend to be inconsistent. If I'm in my Z and end up next to another guy in a Z who appears to be a punk just looking to race I'll generally ignore them. If I see genuine interest and intent to compliment, I'll usually return the gesture.

hmmm maybe he thought I was trying to race in the STI (but he drove up beside me) but as for the other guy, he was on the other side of the road. (going the other way from me)...so maybe this guy was just having a bad day:dunno:

superspeed
strange everyone ihave seen with a z had a good chat or wave, nod and a smile =)

vorpalz
*shrug* some wave, some don't. I usually get a response with a  as I pass by or while running alongside. Mostly the 350Z folks who don't respond, but then again, club members at meetings said they saw me and waved, and I didn't respond. Prolly dinking around with the sat. radio or something :D

Regards,

MixManMash
Yeah, I usually try to wave or give a friendly nod. The problem is, I usually don't notice so if you see me and I don't give a nod or, it only means that I didn't notice you.

seevik
yea whenever i see my car on the road(5th gen civic hb) pretty common too ill see to wave or nodd or sumtin, except for sum reason, there aint that many ppl my age or ppl that like the car as much as me, just more like to get em from point A to B, and for sum reason its always older ppl drivin my car, and i mean oooolllder lol, rarely see lil punks drivin it

gerrycurl
maybe they think that u know them, but they dont know u...

~30oZ~
Maybe it has a lot to do with my age? But I do look older than I am:dunno: It's probably nothing, maybe the glare of the sun was blinding or something lol, or maybe just having an off day, oh well.

Grace Too
A wave is nice, but what I try to do is flash my high beams, or at night my fog lights. It gets there attention without the mistaken impression of wanting to race.

Cheers,

mitsubitchy
Ive gotten the same result too... with mr2's, its pretty rare you see 300zx or mr2 around too so might as well be a tight bunch and respect each other but it doesnt go that way. IVe waved at other mr2's too and they just look at me and go wtf so i pretty much stopped waving at other people, perhaps it gives the wrong impression?

We've got a few in the club. But you're getting into the time of year when they'll be put away for winter.

Z32NUT
A few years back I was coming up from Calgary on Highway 2 when another 300ZX twin came up from behind me. As it turned out, it was the late Jack Mazurek going home from doing business. His Z, now Tim's, looks almost identical to mine. The same red, and very similar 3 in. bazookas hanging out the back. We drove as a pair most of the way back to Edmonton, stopping for lunch in Red Deer. The looks we got were priceless. It's rare enough to see one most days, let alone twins.

Here on Vancouver Island around Comox anyways, I'm the only one here besides a silver one (TT) that's been sitting at the Nissan dealer waiting for the owner to buy a new engine for the last three months. The guys at the local dealer are very happy to have me around. Even the older sales guys drool over the car.

Keep the faith and keep waving. :wavey:

nissanz32
When I come out to the Island this summer we will have to meet up.I spend my time mainly in Parksville so it isn't to far away.

Soulfly
ANYTIME I see a Car that's Along the Import Tuner lines.. I'll get up beside and check out the car.. then Make Eye contact and Proceed to give the 'Nod'!

so.. meh?

Not unless one of you guy's repainted your car in the non-original color.

Your Z is a 90 right? 90-91 red was "Aztec Red".
Mazurek's Z is a 92. 92-96 red was "Ultra Red".

They are not the same.
Ultra Red looks kinda orange-ish under certain light when parked beside Aztec Red.
Aztec Red is more of a pure red.

Bah... I'm nickpicking. The basic point you were making still comes across.

So that would mean my car is Ultra Red?

Correct. ;)

If you check, your factory paint code should be "AJ4" (look under the hood, there should be a stamped metal plate mounted at the front of the engine bay just ahead of the rad).
