Anyone runing a boosted PGT?? - Click HERE for Original Thread

dc2696
Just curious if anyone on here has a boosted probe gt (klde not the 2.2) gonna do another engine swap this winter with a klde and then boost it, its never been done in a miata before so I just want to know if anyone has any experience with the engine, thanx

luder
klde's are fwd......

What the shit tranny are you gonna use?

dc2696
hopefully an rx7 drivetrain will work with some modification:D ya its never been done on a miata so I would be breaking new ground, but i guess theres no one on here with a boosted 2.5...ohwell over to probe talk i go:thumbup:

dc, i think there are some better options for your miata if you want a different powerplant, while using the stock drivetrain... a lot of guys put a ford 5.0L in there.. (kinda heavy i know)

Nightstalker
Yes there is, I am pretty sure there is at least one turbo probe here.. Isn't the guy that uses the name Mr.13sprobe or something like that turbo'd. Personally I would go with a turbo 2 rotor out of a FC.

bah! if i want a 5l I'll buy a mustang, no v8s (i seriously considered an ls1) and rotaries r for girls (j/k) but I though about both options you guys mentioned and I would rather have something different, but I'm not totally sure about the swap yet I'm still trying to get things all figured out in my head about what I want to achieve power wise and streetablity wise ect. this will be a drifting/auto-x car not a daily driver, but then again if its gonna cost an arm and a leg then its obiviously not gonna be worth it, thanx for your comments/opinions guys appretiated.

Mr.DC5
Yep Mr.13secprobe was my old name.

Yea a lot of people turbo their klde cuz it has enough low compression for the turbo.

You can find some more detail info on www.probetalk.com

ya I pretty much got flamed to death by a few of my friends for trying to do that swap haha, it would have been nice but expensive in the long run.

NightmareMX6
get the KLZE from the jdm mx6. 200hp. it will fit right in, the mx6 and the probe are like the same car

Nightstalker
Wow, your still around.. Whats up man

as a former mx-6 owner i know about their relationship, as for the klze..if i was goin to do that swap i would definately go with the klde not the ze(low comp ratio, more parts avail ect.), and the "it will fit right in" is not an accurate statement, theres gonna be some major fabrication issues for anyone that tries that swap.

Nightstalker
And there car will be slow anyway.. because while it does make 200hp... it does not really seem to speed the car up that much. From what I have seen anyway.

huh? 200hp compared to my 100, should make it go alittle faster i would think.

NightmareMX6
ofcourse nothing fits perfect. but ya parts would be hard to find for the klze because of the jdm factor.

And hi Mike we got to get together and do something

fitting a fwd motor to a rwd set-up is an under-estimated swap in the miata, details r gonna kill there lol...
