Was reading another thread and thought to start this. Probably a repeat, but hey, no harm done.
Anybody know of which ones to avoid? Which ones are good?
I've been bringing mine to Alberta Honda and they're pretty okay. Personally I would like a bit more feedback about my car especially for the amount that I pay.
Also, like any dealership, they'll try to give you stuff that you don't need, but hey, that's their job. e.g. I tried spot calling them about 3 or 4 times asking about which maintenance package I should get for my car since it just rolled over 50K kms. I bought the thing at 49K so I had a 300+ point inspection done on it by them as well. I was quoted anywhere from a $420 package to a $340 package and most of it consisted of checks.... even though I got everything checked 1000 kms ago. Eventually one guy told me that since I got all the checks, an oil check would suffice, but suggested that I get the first major tune up at around 70K kms (replace spark plugs, flush all fluids, etc).
This is what I meant when I said that I wish they would take a bit more time to make a vested response. I could very well be bitching though cause I know they're busy.
All in all, they're still my first place I'd bring my Honda, but with that said, if there's better I'd really like to know.
Thanks in advance

quote: Good Honda dealerships?
I took my car to Honda consistanly for 3 years. I dealt with the bad service and the rude additude in hopes for getting better technical service. What a joke.
Take a careful read at what the $300-400 tune up gets you. I was charged $10 ($85 per hour x 0.12 hours) to "Inspect car Antea Mast". When I pointed out the my Prelude has the antea built into the rear glass, the guy at the counter just laufed and refused to deducted the cost from the bill saying that the tune up was a complete package. Asked to speak to the manager, but usual, he was not in, just like all the other time I asked to talk to him.
I've given Honda a second, and even a third chance. each time ended in me taking my car to another shop to repair what Honda had broken. :(
If I absolutly had to take my car back to a Honda dealler, I'd go to Alberta, I'd stay away from Yellowhead. |
