I'm not sure if the deck has an AUX input (CD changer) or not. So, can anyone tell me if this deck has that and if so, could I use this

As well, I've seen the cables that have a headphone tip (3.5mm I think) and the Pioneer AUX input on the other. Similar to this but has the 3.5 mm tip.

Basically, the FM transmitter stuff blows. I've got the $100 monster adapter and it's worse than the $40 one I tried.
I have the actual Apple version of iTrip and it hasd worked fine for me for a couple years now.
What didnt work with yours?
Maybe get a hold of a pioneer rep and he should be able to tell you |

I'm looking to have a direct connection to my deck. The sound quality from a direct connection should be much better than transmitting via FM signal. The monster FM transmitter works, but the sound quality is pretty weak. I tried Certified Radio with questions on my deck but they only have info on 05 models. I'm no stereo whiz so short of taking out my deck and looking at the back, I won't know if it has an AUX input. |

It just goes between CD and tuner. But I think Pioneer decks might require you to "enable" the AUX function for those who add a cd changer later. |

Ahh yes i think i remeber way back when i had a pioneer deck with a changer instanned it didn't go to Aux unless there was something hooked up.
Just head in to Certified or somewhere reputable and ask them to yank the deck quickly and see if it has the input. |

You have to turn your deck off and then hold I think the function button or something to get into the settings. Check the manual on it and the enable your Aux input. Then you still need the plug that goes into the back of the pioneer deck and comes out with your red and white rca's. Then you need a cable from radio shack that goes from red and white rca's to a headphone jack.
This is how I have it set up for when I put my laptop in my car. |

Perfect. Thanks. I discovered how to enable AUX input yesterday. I've seen cables with the Pioneer AUX on one end and a headphone jack on the other so I might not need to bother with RCAs at all.
As well, anyone have any info on the cable I referred to on Ebay? It has the Pioneer AUX, iPod interface and charges the iPod as well if hooked up to the car's power supply. This is the only listing for such an item so I'm a bit skeptical on it. Any advice? |

you need either a CDRB10 which is a aux input addapter or the pioneer ipod interface cable they both should work for you and I have both in stock.

Thanks to everyone for all the help and advice. I ended up getting the adapter that I had asked about earlier off of e-bay. I've installed it but there is a small "problem". It appears that the balance is "off" when using the AUX function. I have to adjust the L/R balance to about L5 to even out the sound. The right speakers are putting out more sound than the left but only on the AUX, not the CD or tuner.
Any ideas as to what's going on? |
