Your price is a bit high. Similar cars from reputable importers are around 7-8K, why the 3K markup? |
|
|
| jdmtalon |
| why do you think? if you pay 7-8k your getting a car that you cant drive or look at, and you have to wait a month for it to come in from japan. go look in the trader and tell me a landed skyline isnt worth 11.5k? to lots of people they will rather pay the extra money to see and drive the car before you hand over thousands of dollars. although i think you have to be a sponsor if your doing it for profit but im not sure |

| ya man, that is an insane price... it doesn't even come w/ inspection lol... spend an extra 3k just to see the damn thing are you nuts? |

So you brought it in to make a profit? |

apparently, this idea seems retarded to me... you dont get an inspection with the car... so you dont know what you are getting anyways... so why the extra money? |
|
|
| jdmtalon |
| ummm i dont want to start anything but if the car is landed, why couldnt you go and get it inspected? its not always the sellers responsibility to provide one. if its here and your serious then pay like 50 bucks to have one done, unless the seller has a problem with that. :dunno: |

I'll tell you why they dont get them inspected.
Nissans have leaky ps racks.
hicas tie rods and bal joints are very expensive when you have to do all of them.
this is what prevents most of those skylines from passing oop.
my friend bought a gts t for 8g's, two days after the oil pump failed.
most of the rhd cars that are here are junk, some japanese guys beater, he sold for 25oo$ and you payed 7000$ for it or more.
There are a few shops in town letting rhd cars fly through oop inspections, even though they shouldn't only because they stand to make a profit from the cars being sold, or indirectly in any way, like an easy 150$ or more, just for the inspection.
transportation canada, and customs canada is going to be coming down on the rhd cars in a big way. I work at a licensed alberta motor vehicle inspection facility, one of the Canada transport guys my boss knows came by our shop for coffee, seen the skyline at our shop and gave me a huge speech about how:
1- RHD cars are too dangerous for lh turns, passing on the highway, yada yada yada too many accidents already with young kids.
2- Cars were allowed to be imported based on the idea that "collectors" wanted them. since it has become vary obvious that people are importing them for a way to turn a profit, and in extremly large numbers, and many of these cars are heavily modified for racing, that doesnt sit well with the insurance companies, yad yada yada...
I've seen people on this forum talk about how rhd cars wont be banned... you need to get your head checked, it's gonna happen sooner or later, whether they restrict what can come in, how many, imply more inspections, etc. if some forty year old canada transport guy can spot a skyline and give me a speech on how they are gonna be banned, I'm gonna beleive him, over an importer in a heart beat.
peace
it's a celebration bitches...
Darknesssss... Darkness is is spreading everybody..... |

just as a note, I'm not saying this car is a piece, or that it wont pass an oop, if you're interested, ask if you can pay the 130$ to get it inspected. if it passes, you'll buy it, if not maybe you could drop the price or come to some terms.
you should get any car inspected before you buy it. 11g's aint bad or a modded skyline, I've seen stock ones sell for over 13g's. and I aint talking about gtr's.
sorry for the brutal thread jacking, rhd cars are starting to ajitate me. Be ready when you buy a rhd car especially one without a us counterpart. It can become very expensive if you crash, or pop your motor, or need brakes/ suspension, some stuff crosses over, but not everything.

This for sale thread is ruined already. I hope you don't share the same opinions as the Transport Canada guy. Not on the banning, but on the reasons for banning. |

| Get your car inspected so its insurable, half the people here wont buy a car unless its got an inspection report done to it. And a passing car will sell alot faster. Just my .02. Good luck with the sale |

I think I dont care if rhd cars are here or not. I think it's neat to see a 90 gtr nismo edition skyline, with rare factory bells and whistles. But I dunno, I would never buy a car that was modded by some one else.
umm.... good luck with the sale.
I do agree with the unsafe part, becasue I've driven rhd cars, and the roads here are built for lhd cars. lh turns are dangerous in traffic, especially if your friend is the one telling you when you can turn.
I guess I just dont care. |

| why cant everyone just let this guy sell his car. its his asking price and his choice if he includes an inspection or not....if u dont like it dont buy it, that simple. |
|
|
| whiteEG |
| I simply didnt think having the inspection was such a big deal since the car was already landed. Which I figured the main concern was in the first place. I went through a lot of b/s with customs when I got the car, not to mention with my shipping company from Van to Calgary. Once it was sitting on my property I just wanted to sell it. I'm letting a person take the car for a short drive around the block if there are any concerns over its quality. Regardless the price is obo, so whether my asking is too high or not doesnt matter. Offer less. I'm broke now I need the flow :P I am willing to consider deals regarding the inspection if someone has a serious offer. |
