Turbo_Civic92
i believe you can buy adapters to add on the BOV im not sure how that works probably for cars that are already turbo charged im not sure but i guess its cheaper just to weld it to the intercooler pipe that leads to yur intake manifold

apex has a tig welder?

Wouldn't it be much cheaper wielding it urself, is it a easy "art" to learn?? I'm planning to wield my charge pipes at my friend's place.

And I won't mind knowing what the cost is at the shops;)

Welding is not easy and not something you can just pick up without some technical training. Take a entry course at nait and learn for yourself some basics.

i went through about 10 bottles of argon before i said "i can tig weld aluminimin" Tig is an art at best. Very hard to control, so meany veryables to deturmin how well the weld will turn out.

orangeteg
For manifolds and downpipes make sure you get that tig. The downpipe sees particularly high heat stress which can quickly fatigue and crack the metal. The rest of the pipes can be done by mig. You can buy your tubing at Mopac they have it in 180 degree mandrel or 90 degree. If your just gonna hook up the BV you can just mig that.

Kirill
To be honest mig welding is fairly easy, just go to any muffler shop ask for some scrap piping, and practice, tig welding is a little harder though, i'm still trying to get good at aluminum.

I'm going to give it a try, u never know until u try;)

Every shop is going to chrage you an hour of time to weld on your BOV. Did you figure out what material the piping is made from yet?

1 tig is harder than mig but any guy that mig'ed for a while can tig too. my old welder dude is on vacation he can mig tig rod he welded up turbo manifold for me in 1 hour . bov takes like 10 minutes . i will call around for some rates otherwise i might just wait till my welder comes back cuz an hour of labor to tig a bov is like are you making the bov too?. and some guy on here supose to talk to his buddy and see if he can do it since they aren't a shop the rate prob better than 1 hour but will see . :blue:

he can mig tig??? mig is wire fed and tig is manuel wire fed and uses straight polarity as a pose to reverse on normal arc.

With tig the torch is different from mig and requires more skills than a person who can run a bead with a mig gun, not anyone can pick up a tig torch and think he can pressure weld or walk a cup. You also require an argon pruge through the tig gun. Any welder can explain why.

chris f
tig is dc-, dc+ and a/c, depends on wich kind of welding you do. tig is nothing like mig, if you have stick welded before you got a good shot at torch control. a good tig weld is not easy, putting down a bead with tig is easy, with no requerament of it holding or sealing anthing.
