I'm not sure if this question has been posed before and no I didn't search cause I didn't feel like it.
But a Long while ago I got pulled over and warned for LED pissers, told it was because it causes distractions to other drivers.
Now some people have posed the idea, that classics, exotic cars cause the same distractions, yet their legal.
Now my Q is, how come nothing is done about those God awefull signs, like the light sign on the side of the Brick downtown on 101st and 107ave. OR the video one on the south east corner of WEM, same witht he one at the old Ikea(noe finese or whatever) Cal trail south and whytemud.
Those things during the day ain't bad, but at night they're blinding. Shoot 2 weeks ago at about 3am, I was cutting through Edmonton on my way to Cowtown and sitting at the light in cal trail south and whytemud the sign changed screens and both me and my wife got blinded.
I mean how can they ticket cars for having lights like underglow and shit when these video/light signs are actually causing a potential traffic safety issue. They should be required to go to 25-50% brightness at night. |

| mnight as well be arguing that the speed limits are too low for modern cars... the right person has to complain before anything might happen. Kinda like you can tell your boss a great idea, but it won't happen untill he "comes up" with the same idea himself, usually a frew months later. |

| Actually, EPS has been trying to get those signs changed for some time now...especially that one at Cal Tr / Whitemud. It's only a matter of time before it causes a collision, but the business owners haven't been too receptive. |

Ok, so when an accident happens and the guy at fault cause he was blinded by the sign comes back and sues them... then they might change it. |

Umm if you went blind you should get your eye's checked and stop driving. I drive around that intersection all the time and it is not that bad.
They are bright but it is nothing like another car comming toward you with his lights on. It is only bright if you look directly into the light. And why would you be driving and not paying attention to the road. |

| I think what he is trying to get across is that those screens are a lot more distracting then simple washer LEDs and underglow kits. And I completely agree with that statement. |

I was stopped, my wife was driving actually, at the light and was looking at the sign and it switched to a diff ad of sorts and was really bright.
Outright blinded, ok no... but it's still a distraction, and a big one at that to have at that major of an intersection on top of it all. |

| i can ignore a neon undercar kit, or even a neon licence plate if its the right color for the back of a car... but i actually am not able to see past the fucking billboards if my windshield is anything but perfectly clean, or it it's raining. it is much brighter than any car that is oncoming, and it's off-axis from where i should be looking. it's so bright and with the motion picture i WILL look away from the road, even if just to see WTF is causing all the light. many people take the time to actually watch the ads while they are driving, and i can't see a safety benefit to that :dunno: |

Ya, how really are they any different than having a DVD player in your car? |

They can sell them because there is a disclaimer on the package that says "for off road use only" With Neon plate lights, a white neon plate light mounted for the "halo" effect should be legal as it is white light which the equipment regs requires.. and you don't see the tube |
