I found a decent possible project car, a 86 MR2.
Looking for information as I'm not sure on what to do....
I can buy the car for $800 ( is that a good/fair price?) with a decent body an minimal rust, no motor and assuming no tranny. The interior seems to be in good shape as well. I haven't had a real good look at it. I need help on understanding what to look for b4 I deciede on this car.....I think its N/A and not S/C since the rear bumper says "twin cam 16 valve" and I didn't have a look at the engine bay.
I basically no nothing about MR2's other than I am attracted to the style of the car and I was thinking it would be a nice winter project.
What I am looking for is some intelligent, constuctive information/opinions regarding this car for a possible project.
All information and opinions will be greatly appriciated

If its a 1986, its not a supercharged model. They came out in 1987- but has a twin cam 16 valve also.
Personally, I wouldn't but the car for $600. I bought a nearly rustless 86 that only needed a clutch for $1200.
But, if you have the extra money kicking around, and need something to do this winter, go for it, its one hell of a fun car. |
