Twincharging? - Click HERE for Original Thread

Is it possible to twincharge a mk2 mr2, turbo + supercharge
tried to look for it on the internet, nothing found so im guessing its not possible then.

ive always wanted to. it is possible, but who really wants to stuff all that shit under one hood? you'd be retarded to try it with only one intercooler as well, this presents a problem...

superchargers and turbochargers are just compressors, so feeding a compressor compressed air will compress it more (read: pressure-ratio), as well as heat that air according to the ideal gas law. it sounds like using one big intercooler at the last stage before the throttle body would be the ideal solution untill you realize that you have to add the inefficiencies of both compressors together. so unless you really HAVE to have HIGH pressure air, or plan on running very very low boost on the supercharger stage, just for the low end torque, you'll probably not be able to cool the air to any reasonable temp. a big single stage turbo would be much more efficient and give coolest best high pressure air, if you want just to hit some high hp number that does nothing for driveability.

eek, i thought i could stop at 5 lines... if you want to know more, id be glad to ramble on, but i am out of time :)

gets back to the saying "with enough money anything is possible". it would be totaly custom but not out of this world. have a look at sequential turbo systems ie fdrx7, and maybe some of that design tech could be used on a twincharge system. you'd be using a standalone at that point anyway so the electronics/fuel wouldn't be an issue, hardest part would be getting everything mounted, if it were done i bet it would be an absolute killer on the street.
