Car Starter Feedback - Click HERE for Original Thread

I need some feedback from you guys about some good car starters around $200-250 range installed. Nothing special, just need one with a good range to get the car running. I'm looking at one for Arctic Start that's $198 with install at Visions now. Anyone have any experience with this brand?

Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

I dunno Vince... You get what you pay for and I think you should save up and spring for the nice ones.

I've had a few problems with some of the cheaper brands, failing to start, units going wierd, etc. But none with the stuff like Command start (pretty sure this is the one I'm thinking about) and such plus they are upto 1.9 km ranges now :)

Remember those advertised prices never include any bypass modules to get past your vehicle security system. Only if you have an old car will it be close to that. And even then, it won't include controlling your power locks or your truck release. And if your car has a manual transmission it will also cost you more.

compustars 1 way remote starters are good for 1500ft i think... if you have it installed in an automatic, should be around $250. I had bought one last yr for my GSR. $125 for the unit... but the install killed me since it was a standard so it costed $185. Automatic is alot cheaper to install. I bought mine from international stereo but i think i got ripped off.

Go see David at garage works he will hook you up. I would do it before the snow falls, other wise you will not be able to get in. They get crazy busy. I have a two way alarm/starter for my sunfire. I would say the compustart brand is good. The 1 way AM starter should be pretty cheap. It starts to go up in price once you add locks and trunck but head down there and he will show you exactly what you need. Plus my install was only 85 bucks, but keep in mind that was last year. I don't know if his rate has gone up or not.
