So if I don't have room in a garage to store a car, where would be the next best place?
has to be relatively cheap too. If it's over $60 a month then I can park it in a condo close to me.
anybody have any ideas/suggestions?
Thanks in advance |

$60/month is pretty good for a place just down the street (i assume)
most true storage facilties are way more then that... and they sometimes don't like you working on the car while it's there...
i talked to a buddy at school bought a house recently and had a spare spot in his garage... we decided on $50/month, but it's like a 30 min drive to get there :(
i had an idea to canvas an older neighborhood in town and ask the seniors who live there, don't own cars, but still have garages if you could park there in exchange for shoveling the sideway for them....
i'd think you'd get at LEAST one or two bites if you asked an entire neighborhood. |

wow, that's a great idea with the seniors.
hmm, I was looking around and you can get underground heated in downtown for $60 a month if it helps.
I live in Riverbend so I checked with the condo units beside me. Only problem is finding a spot with nobody beside you. |

okay, apparently the stall that I had on "reserve" really wasn't on reserve. sons of bitches. so I need parking.
if anybody knows of an apartment complex that offers underground, heated parking to non-residence please PM me. I'll give you $50 if I get a spot where you recomended.
preferrably south or central locations. hovering around the $60 mark would be snazzy. |

got a place lined up, though I just have to see how much it costs per month -don't imagine it'd be more than 60 a month, but again, I don't have a final figure yet so no, my car is still sitting on the road under a heap of snow.
ask all your friends who live in condos/apartments to see if they have heated underground so they can get you a pass. this is tricky as some parking stalls are actual property which you have to buy. Some places only let residence acquire parking stalls (which is why you ask friends who live in said apartments... or possibly a friend's friend). some places let anybody rent a spot, but these, as I've found, are all taken.
you can try an impark parkade that has heated and underground parking. There's one by calgary trail north and it costs $65/month+tax.
if the place that I found let anybody rent and the price is decent, I'll PM you. I'd ask for you, but I'm already going through a friend of a friend. |
