| I just noticed something. If you cover up the front clip, it looks like a cartoon version of a Carrera GT. |

| Thats sweet. But is it even legal or smart to drive with the windshield down? I mean... I get enough rocks hitting my windshield... I don't need them hitting my face... but the car is awesome and with wicked mileage too! |

Actually, those are two different windshields. A Speedster screen and a Roadster/Coupe screen. Imagine the weight they saved by not making a motorized full size windshield and running tracks that long. They just swap out, like the T-tops and rear hatch.
Another cool thing I've read is, in coupe form, when the doors are opened, the T-top cover on that side automatically lifts to give the driver head room.

Actually, I don't think anyone is going to get this car. It's an advanced technology study. A concept to build off of in the future. So we may not see this roadster, but there is a good chance that this measn VW is working on lightweight mid engined sports coupes/convertibles with economy and performance as a goal.
As far as this car is concerned, it's all about the bigger picture. I'd love to see VW make a return to the trans-axle. It's what made them, afterall. |
