Okay... so looks like I've picked up 2 84-85 nissan 300zx turbo's.... Don't need the details... except that I'll only need to do this stuff to one, a 3.0L V6 Turbo.
So, I've heard that one of my first steps should be exhaust and intake on these cars. I have a kn filtercharger from my old z which I'll be reusing and perhaps a muffler too?
In any case, what I need is 3inch exhaust, downpipe out, not cats.... I hear that's a good combo for this car. I need something that'll last but doesn't cost too much (no hks or that "junk") Probably a custom job would be best. Who should I go to, to get this project done.... have my exhaust installed including a downpipe and the kn filtercharger.
I also think I'll be picking up tokico springs and non-adjustable suspension and will need that installed. Is there a place than is reliable that can do all 3 things at once that doesn't charge an arm and a leg...? \\
So far, I've got the suspension setup "on order" for $700.00, is that a good deal? What will the exhaust set me back. I've heard $200.00 including all the custom piping (w/downpipe in that set) plus muffler...?
I'm just starting to run circles now, so help is appreciated.

| Chris... I went to Thrifty Muffler & Brake Shop Ltd to do the exhaust on my jaguar and they did a good job considering the price and the fact that they did it right then and there all other places seemed to need "appointments" and I had just bought my ansa tips and wanted em on my freakin' Jag NOW... so I'd reccomend them.. or Action Muffler b/c I imagine you wanna keep the budget low right? hope that helps... ;) |

Steve-O at Midas might be able to point in the right direction.
Or Pro Drag can do some pretty cool things with pipe. Give Blaine a shout. |

Thanks for the plug BTE.
We can do everything you mentioned needs done on the car RB303, we'd need to see the car and lift it up so you can show us EXACTLY what you want to do with the exhaust. |

| Blaine.... without seeing the underside of the car.... what I want done with the pipe is larger exhaust. I hear 3 inches is good to run on a turbo Z, downpipe out... If it's something you can run, straight pipe through a muffler that I supply, is that expensive? How much do you usually charge for a basic 3inch exhaust system, so I have an idea of where I'm starting* at... |

I recommend Thrifty Muffler. Darcy and Kieth will ensure your satisfaction. Tell them what you want and they'll give you a fair price. They can handle the exhaust and suspension work. Muffler is a part that is a personal prefence on sound, looks, longevity and performance. Your decision there. If you want all 4 be prepared to spend on the muffler as much as a whole exhaust. It is also the easiest part to be changed any time you want.

Why is that dumb? I could put insurance on anybody's vehicle I wanted, then go get it registered in my name, then steal the vehicle.
I could drive the stolen vehicle around, and if I ever got pulled over, I have registration and insurance on the vehicle in my name. |

Its not dumb in the sense that they ought to just handout insurance to anyone for a car.... but they won't even give temp insurance if I get the vin and/ or fax em a copy of th ebill of sale.... it's retarded... now I have to make the trip down there, buy the cars and then come back get insurance and go down there and get them again.... it's just a big hassel because they won't work for the customer, rather I must work for them. Of course because they're in calgary I'll have to insure the car for a full month, which I don't want to do then go get them.... they won't even give me temp insurance to bring it home for one day because I'll be getting it on a weekend. They said they can't insure the car for one day if it's on a weekend... so unless i go mon-friday then I pay $250.00 to bring my freakin car home! Oh well..... just rambling on lhere.....
Still the question remains... what should I be expecting to pay for basic 3 inch exhaust including downpipe? |

| what is the down pipe shaped like on your turbo? the reason I ask is that I can now build and sell my own custom made three inch full mandrle bent downpipes for 87-92 rx7's but i dont know what type of space you have or what yours looks like... pm me and we can talk. and I can build them for about half or less the cost of the aftermarket ones. |
