| I just saw it. It was not bad. Needed th FPS throughout the movie. Had a suspencful feel to it. Better then I thought it was going to be. I say you should atleast see it (now or DVD or DL). |

The FPS was rather nice, however if it was like that through the whole movie (although it did look good for some fight scenes..) i think i'd leave the theatre with sore eye's and a hell of a headache..
It was pretty good.... although not going with the whole 'Hell' & 'Demons' aspect of it (which, to me.. is a huge as chunk of what doom is about).... i left the theatre thinking that it just seems like a storyline stolen from Resident Evil Films (genetically altered/enhanced humans...):
a) Resident Evil (T-Virus, experimentation on DNA, zombies/monsters, superhuman protagonist)
b) Doom (C24, experimentation on DNA, monsters, superhuman protagonist)).
Doom was just given a bigger budget, with a couple 'known' celebs attached to it..
It was good..... but far from great.. |

| Ya I was hoping they went to hell and killed more demons, not genetic humans. I hate how genetics is the now thing in movies. Yes I thought it was a bigger budget resident evil. I think I could handle the whole movie in FPS, I have a high tolerance to motion. |

I gotta agree :) I havent seen Doom yet but I like Resident evil and part 2. If its higher budget its gotta be good right?

Doom should have done what Resident Evil did, they really needed more story in this one explain everything and set it up for a bigger second one.
Sometimes they need to explain and develop these shooter movies just a bit more. |

| Doom the game made me swear alot. My GF and her friends would spend hours watching me play it just to laugh at the creative swear words I would come up with. I was pretty good at the game too I just love to swear when Im killing Demon spawn lol. |

It was kinda like ALIENS but with less plot and character development. (In Doom, you're not really made to care what happens to most of the characters.)
I'm still mad about the geneic mutation vs. demons from hell thing.
But otherwise the mood/atmosphere, sets and creatures seemed to represent the game (Doom 3) very well. The design of the hallways and rooms had a look very familiar. Even the way certain scenes were lit. And the creatures... if you've ever played Doom3 and wondered what some of those creatures would look like if they were actually standing in the room with you... I think they did a good job with the creature design in the movie.
The source material is limited obviously. But the sets were adequate. The music/soundtrack was decent. Just give it a more polished script and perhaps a better director and it might've brought the movie up a couple notches. |
