Hi,
Given that everyone here lives in Alberta we all drive the same kinda roads. So my question is...
If I get rims this summer, what size should I get so that I won't have to worry about bending them in a pot-hole? I was thinking about getting 16" or 17" OZ Superleggra's. What do you think? |

| :wavey: welcome to the board.....I would say that it depends on the size of your wheel well the larger profile tire you can run and the less risk of damage. So if you don't have to much space to play with go with the 16's and a higher profile tire. |

| going with 17's won't sacrifice any performance but ask pearlywhitetsi about that one.. as far as I know up to 18" and you're safe... depending on the vehicle, finding a tire that'll fit the off-set and whatnot for 17's will be tougher then 16's.... the larger you go in size of rim the more and more you limit yourself to style... if you're worried that much about potholes go with 16's and a high sidewall like he said... |

| OZ's are nice, what are you putting them on? Personally I'm getting 16' rims, they give a better ride, handle just as good as 17's and offer added protection from pot holes and other road hazards, but as far as looks go, the 17's absolutely Own 16's in that department. If cost were not an issue, go 17's. They look damn fine. |

They'd be going on a civic coupe (maybe a HB if I sell the coupe this spring). I want to go with a more JDM look, and I'm also very concered with the weight of the wheels. I'm not too worried about cost. I'd be happiest with some nice light, strong, black rims. Are rims paintable? I like the powder-coated look. Like this...

Does anyone know what these rims are called? |

those are probably Spoon wheels. i do not know the model type.
But, there is a group buy going on in the market place for rota's.
The similar Rota's are called Slipstream i believe.
but you say cost is not a factor, so the spoon's is what you are going for. :o
edit --
Spoon SW388 Wheels
16 x 7 (12 lbs)
Here is the rota group buy.
