nice car. what did you do with the motor? |

Its actually a combo of two motors now. First the JDM D15B VTEC went in, but it had two bad rod bearings in it. So I pulled apart my stock D16Y7 Block, completely rebuilt it using OEM Honda bearings, seals, etc and put on the JDM D15B VTEC Head. So right now its moreless a mini-me set up. The JDM D15B VTEC has the most agreesive Cam, of any of the SOHC Honda motors and works quite well. Its often compared to a Stage 1 ZEX Racing Cam.
I got a moreless brand new stock D16Y7 Crank (it had 3000km on it when it was pulled out) The block was also hot tanked, and cleaned up.
So right now it is pretty much stock, but it will be going through yet another rebuild. I am fully building the bottom end, doing some head work and Turbo the motor for next season. My HP goals are in the range of 275-300 WHP on this SOHC Motor. :) |

D-series motors are not better than B-series motors at all, for me, its just more practical moneywise. A friend of mine is running a fully built SOHC ZC VTEC Motor in his EG Hatch...the whole project cost him around $4000. His car Dyno'd at 312 WHP and takes out 5.0L's and Camero's all day.
I like B-series motors as well...but personally I would rather take the money and build a nice Turbo set up than a stock N/A B16 or B18.
Best of both worlds would be to have enough cash to build a B-series Turbo :P
Thanks for all the comments. :) |

They are 16x7 inch Rota Slipstreams. Nice light weight rim (weigh in at about 13.5lbs per rim) I like the rims a lot, I was suprised on how much of a difference they made in acceleration, going from the 17 inch rims I used to have.
Thanks for all the comments guys :) Its still a work in progress and I still have a lot planned for it. Most of the work should be done by next summer. |

Yeah sorry dont get me wrong for the money d-series turbo is nice, i plan to do a b-series turbo setup. I like my b-series for the daily drive but we will add some more power and have tons of fun :D
but yeah i like your EK , i just gotta get some rota slips like you or something and get em black and im set for my body stuff :D i have an eg tho
and i also suggest i see rear drum brakes, if you turbo you do a brake upgrade, many ways of doin it , one simple way is a Prelude or Type R rotor drilled to 4x100 then just doin some simple brake caliper work and you get a big brake setup for 400 bucks tops. OR wilwood offers a setup that will fit your rims for about 600 ish american last time i checked.
either way i got upgraded brakes , all i need is better calipers , but i got discs all around and you notice a big difference |

Yeah I totally agree with you and a rear disc swap will be taking place over the winter :) Im just trying to find a place locally that would have what Im looking for. Anything from a 92-95 Civic Si, 93+ Integra or a 99-00 SiR will work with my set up. Does anyone know where I could find a rear disc conversion locally? I would rather get it locally, then have to order it online.
Thanks. |

Yeah I will deffinetly be out for sure. I am new in the city and I dont know anyone, so this is a great way to meet people. Everyone on this site seems to be awesome, so I look forward to meeting a lot of you.
My car has a lot of work to be done this winter, but it should be ready for next spring/summer. My goal is to get into the 12's. Hopefully everything will work out :) |

| Did you get a chance to run it at the track this summer? |

| what is your total suspension setup? |
|
|
| EK9Hatch |
Right now my suspension is pretty basic. I have Eibach Sportline lowering springs (about 2 1/4" drop) and stock struts. I also have Megan Racing Lower Control Arms in the rear with a generic Tie-rod brace.
Next spring I think I am going with a full TEIN coil-over package. |
