| I heard right before Christmas, would make sense in the governments eyes to have the money put right back in the economy through christmas shopping/travelling. |

I'd say it really doesn't matter.
The money will be handled the same way - regardless of whether it's issued in December or January.
You could even argue it would be better to give it out in Janaury because there may be an increase of sales then, during a traditionally slow sales period. |

It is supposed to be in the new year now.
And most people like to pre spend their money so I'm sure they will spend it during the Christmas season whether they have it or not. :D |
