I was looking at some photos on another forum when my comp froze up. It unfroze said there was a error with the video driver (I think, cant really recall) and the screen went kinda like when its in safe mode. Everything went wonky colours and was really huge.
It told me to reboot and I did. A lbue screen flashed up for a second or two and all I could really catch was the error was with "s3savmx" It will boot up in safe mode, but wont boot up normally.
I tried to reinstall the video driver and got this message.
Error no S3 device2 - entry not found in the string table
What have I fucked up now?
BTW, its WinXP on a IBM laptop and I just installed more ram and a new HD. It froze twice before looking at threads with lots of pictures. |

| the video chip for the onboard graphics is causing you some issues, try last known good config by hitting the F8 key on boot up. could be caused by heat or possibly you damaged something when installing the new stuff or most likely it is a software issue. |

There maybe a Conflicting Issue, with the video Card Driver - I Would Visit The IBM Site: Search for your MOdel Number oN your notebook - Download the Newest Device Driver For your Display Adapter - Install it See What happends.. Thats WEird because nothing has changed since the last time we installed windows - used windows default drivers - nothing was updated from IBM.
If not Bring it By this weekend ill take a quick peak at it, give me a call if u wanna pop by. ( obviously free of charge :P hah )
Also to retrive your cd key that i installed with
Download / Run Magic Jelly Bean
http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
That will show you the key i installed with :)
thanks

| i would say make sure you have the most updated driver for your video card. and that you have the newest version of direct x. if that doesnt work try rolling back the driver on your video card |

| Start simple. Uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the display drivers, perferrably repackaged and released by IBM for your specific model. If that fails, as mentioned, search knowledge bases online. |
