I haven't really looked at it so I don't know if it's an option, but I know the "plug warmer" I've got doesn't look like it'd do the job all that well, so I was thinking about putting in a circulating block heater that goes in the rad line. They're running about $30 for a 2" version at canadian tire apparently.

now
circulating heaters don't seem to work well on the rotary.
because there is only one place you can put it in line, and
putting it there will only warm up the heater core inside the car then its back to the rad.
so you will have a warm interior and a warm rad and maybe a little heat to the motor but not much.
i suggest either the plug warmer
an oil pan pad type warmer that you glue on or
a magnetic heater and stick it to one of the irons.

I have a plug warmer you can buy. Make an offer. My car hibernates so it's of no use to me.

I dont quite get what you mean by "plug warmer"

i understand what you mean about how a inline coolant heater would only heat the rad and the heater core.

so im guessing the best bet would be to use the kind of heater that sticks to the bottom of the oil pan, right?

also, what oil should i use for winter in my car? I ran mobil1 5w30 in the summer, but the guys on the rx7 owners club said that i should have ran 15w50 synthetic mobil 1...?

i used esso 0w30 in my sunbird last winter and it worked greayt, just wondering if i should run that in my rx7 this winter?

now
"plug warmer" = spark plug type

David Beale
We're calling a "plug warmer" because it's a block heater element that bolts on the outside of the engine around the spark plugs. It's a Mazda part. It sort of warms up the engine, just not very well as it has poor contact with the aluminum rotor housings.

ahh thanks for clearing that up.
