What are you looking to spend?
A brand spanking new 97+ Spec 5-speed transmission right out of the crate is ~$1700 CDN (after Z Club discount) + $500 core deposit (refundable if you give them your old one back), through Ericksen Nissan.
You can't beat that for brand new tranny, and I doubt you could "remanufacture" one for $1700 or less. The 97+ spec trannies are also better (stronger synchros, etc.) than what was originally available in the 90-96 models.
But if you're looking for a cheaper option, there might be some companies that bring in used trannies from JDM cars. Try 4Kruzn and ask Conroy or Richard if you want to go that way. I'm guessing but might cost around ~$500 or so (don't quote me on that) for a USED tranny, depending on mileage, etc. |
