| hey, i was just wondering what is the difference between a 1991 prelude sr to a 1991 prelude si? Is there any difference at all? |
| Jarenz |
| i belive it is just the trim package level but it could be a change from the b20 to the b21. I know the difference between a s and si is just trim package but i am not sure if its the same |
| NightmareMX6 |
| I believe sr and si is just usa and canada trim naming |

| what's the power difference between the b20 and the b21? Are the parts on the SI and the SR interchangable? |

This is what I found with some googling;
"B20A5 2.0L DOHC non-VTEC 87-91 Prelude 2.0Si 135hp
B21A1 2.1L DOHC non-VTEC 90-91 Prelude Si 145hp"
"3rd Generation
Year '88-'90 '88-'91 '90-'91
Model: 2.0 S, 2.0 Si, Si
HP: 2.0 S = 105@5800
2.0 Si = 135@6200
Si=140@5800" |

| did the prelude sr only come with the b21a? Which model came from the united states the SR or the SI? |
| mike3 |
| I think the sr's had leather as an option. |
| Honda_Civic_25 |
| sr is from US and si is from canada, both in 1991 came with the b21 |

| I was reading and people said that the canadian model the SR didn't come equipped with 4ws is this true? |
| Supra_devil |
| i have seen a lot of aws preludes so i doubt that it was a US only option. |

si in 91 had the b20a5 same as the 88-89si(my car)
b21 has a bit more tourque than the b20, but burns oil after more milage, because of long value strocks in the b21
My advice if you are looking at engines lust pop the hood and look at what is stamped on the block
If your loking at both the sh and si look at features like power accessories and leather |

| i know preludes in canada came with 4ws but did the 1991 prelude SR have it? I've been reading losts of post where people say that 4ws on the 1991 prelude SR was taken off for saftey reasons. |
| mike3 |
| Yeah, i owned an '89 si 4WS |
| abaddour |
| I own a 1990 SR with 4WS right now. It's got a B21A1 engine which has 140 HP. Worst engine honda ever made because they made fiber re-enforced sleeves in them which made it extra strong, but wore piston rings out causing the car to burn oil. The B20 is an engine for japan that has about 160 hp. Most people swapping these B21A1's out of there prelude go for the B20's because they are a direct bolt on (except you will have to change the o2 sensors but thats nothing) and you wont have the stupid issue of burning oil. |

no you are all basically wrong from what i read the SR is the b21 and Si is the b20 they both can have the 4ws just depends were it was made. ther parts in the engines are not interchangeable for the most part. go www.preludepower.com and it will answer all your questions.
and no your all wrong sorry the b21 has more hp than the b20 man. yes the b21's burn alot more oil because of the FRM sleeves but it also has more hp. honestly i own a b21 it is really good pulls hard for a honda i guess and yes it burns oil but not redicuiosly. but if you have the choice go b20 it is a much more reliable engine. |

| As far as i know Si's are not available in North America. And best line for lude would be SH. BTW i talking abt the 5th gen ludes not sure if its the same case for older gen ludes.... |

i refuse to comment on any of this because a large majority of the post's were wayyyyyy off....don't ask prelude questions on 780 because you won't get the right answers....preludepower.com or preludeonline.com....get the facts not a bunch of bull....
and for the guy complaining about how the sleeves in his b20 are to strong for the rings....don't any bells go off in your head when you speak those words....b20s are extremly boost friendly (for honda) as are the b18's...holy fuck:mad: |
| lovinthespeed |
| no 3rd gens are diffrent than 4th and 5th for names and how good they are |
| 2ndgenlude |
| lol, bad idea to argue with dylan. b20's are boost friendly if they were taken care off. obviously i wouldn't boost a 3rd gen burning oil or anything. but they are solid motors. im probably going to pick one up next winter/ half way through summer. |
| Shady_Pro |
| im just saying theres been alot of guys that have large fun with these motors for what you start with...rock on:beer: |
