| Hey. How hard is parking at University Of Alberta? Im going there next year and wondering if I should keep the car, or sell it and buy a bus pass? I'd really not like to sell it, but you know how things are. Any ideas? |

Parking is very brutal and I would advise you to get yourself a bus pass. I haven't looked into parking personally, but I've heard that it's pretty expensive. I've heard $100 a month or something along those lines.
Bus pass will be your friend or else live close enough so that you can walk! |

| My wife goes to U of A, and yeah she takes the bus. Parking last I heard was $75 a month for non heated spot, so forget that. |

| It is damn near impossible to get a parking permit. Sell your car or leave it in a garage at home. As much as the bus sucks it is the smart thing to take there. |

| I have to agree that parking around the U of A is fairly bad, but I must say that it is possible to find a decent parking spot for a fair price. I've parked my car in the back driveway of two different houses on campus. The first place I paid $65/mo, and the one I'm at now is $55. The parkade's are fairly expensive but if you can find a house to rent from (of which there are many), it's not too bad. |

I park at the uofa right now.... Although its not a parking spot at uofa campus, i park at one of the frat houses close by. I have to walk a bit maybe about 8 min. I pay just 30 bucks a month but i have a hookup so i cant say. If you park somewhere off campus like newton place it will cost 55 bucks a month with plug. There is also like a 4 min. walk away from there too. Parking spaces at windsor is also only like 55 bucks (close to the engineering buildings)
I used to take the bus in the first year but LRT and bus is a pain in the ass and can cause you to be late in some classes. Driving gives you so much freedom and you can leave to go somewhere to eat if your on a break. |

| Parking on campus is terrible. Just a nightmare in every aspect. Driving on busy mornings, paying huge amounts of money, long lineups to get into the parkades. Your best bet would be to try to get a spot where you know you'll be able to park everyday (even on exam days) and it won't be jacked. Since that is still tricky and doesn't get rid of the horrible drive everyday, I suggest you bus it. |

| i park at varsity park at the U of A and the pass was 480 for the year....if you get like one other person to go with you the cost is cheaper than a bus pass...that being said you dont have to pay for gas/maint on the bus ....but overall i generally get a good parking stall and its less of a hassle than taking the bus but thats just my opinion |

| If you live on the northside, you could drive to Clareview, park your car there, and take the LRT the rest of the way. Expensive, but you get to keep your car :dunno: |
