what do you do if you lost your drivers ed certificate?

currently i lost mine, im not sure if theres much i can do about it. one of my friends says it will appear on my drivers abstract, but i believe thats totally BS. i know im going to need the discount from it as im planning on insuring an expensive car with full coverage... anybody have a solution to my problem?

You lost it as in misplaced it? Or you got caught doing something cool and got it taken away?

Usually you just have to tell your company that you took the program. Mine has never asked for proof.

Regardless, you should be able to call up the place that you took the training and they should have it on file. Just get a new copy if you need it.

CanuckDave
if you took it through AMA, you can get a new copy of your certificate, there's a fee for it though.

If you have presented it to your insurance company, you dont have to do it again just for adding a vehicle on or transferring to a different company. Its all on file.

here let me extend this question further....what happens when you take drivers ed...lost your certificate...and now the company that had trained you is no longer in buisness...hmmm?

I would call other drivers education schools. I'm pretty sure that they have register/send all their documents to a higher power. That would be where you need to go to get your proof of drivers ed. It would be odd if a drivers ed school just closed up and took all the documents with them. Just my guess.... seems reasonable i think.

How long ago did you take drivers ed? If it's over 3yrs it's worthless anyhow.
