For any sort of reliable quote you would have to take the car down to get it inspected.
When painting a car, the prepwork is key. No shop will just spray the car as is and give you a warranty with it, they have to prep it so that it turns out and lasts for you. And the only way for an accurate quote, is for them to judge the prepwork. And for that, they'll need to do a complete inspection of the car. |

$2000 for a basic spray with simple prep work is generally the starting point for any sort of decent base/clear (Factory) paint job with some sort of warranty.
However, any shop that stands behind their work will want to do the prep properly, and will have to inspect the car to estimate the prep work before hand.
Just as a heads up - the actually painting process of the cars costs ~400-600 for materials, and take 2-3 hours to complete (At most). The rest of the price is typically all labour for prep/body work (And of course, additional materials like fillers). As you can see, there is a wide number of options that contribute to the price, and it's best that to seek any specific quote that you consult the shop in person, and get their body guy to give you an estimate.
I don't speak on behalf of EZ, however I'm certain they will tell you all of this as well. |
