1. the supra has never been FWD, not even the mark 1 back in 79.
2. celicas are front wheel drive, but arent heavy, so thats invalid too.
3. toyota never invented v-tec, vtec was invented by honda, which is in most of there engines.
4. the only valve timing toyota made was vvti, varible valve timing with intelligence. but this isnt what made there engines powerful and no north american supra ever had it.
5. please get your facts straight before you bash a car, when all it appears you own is a 89 chevy cavalier and probably dont even own a dsm or a skyline. (a skyline is actually heavier then the average supra and has a lower baseline horsepower rating then a mark 4 supra as well.)
6. the Toyota supra has been around since 1979 in the form of the celica supra, the first toyota to recieve electronic fuel injection.
from 80-85 the celica supra went on, finally becoming its own model in the middle of 1986 in the form of the mark 3 supra.
in 87 the mk3 was given the 7mgte, a turbocharged inline 6 engine. in 1990 the 1jz engine was revealed in the Japanese domestic market only. finally in 1993 the mark 4 supra was unveiled with the 2jz-ge engine and soon afterward the twin turbocharged 2jzgte engine was available. in 1998 the supra was cancelled in north america, but continued into 2002 in japan, where it got vvti and gps.

your kidding right? every eclipse and talon lover knows what a DSM is! diamond star motors? club DSM? dsmparts.com? ring a bell? it should. a 99 skyline weights nearly 3700 pounds
where as a 1990 skyline weighs over 3300 pounds with out driver. so go have fun along highway sixteen buddy, but try to research things a little, my 76 year old aunt knows more about imports then you do. |

the weights i have here are:
79-81 supra, 2900-3000 lbs
82-86 supra, 2900-2950 lbs
86.5-92 supra, 3500-3700 lbs
93-2002 supra, 3200-3400 lbs
r32 v spec, 3300lbs could not find any spec weight for a r32 gtr in my quick look.
Anyways, this does not remedy the fact that you don't know what the fuck your talking about. my 2900lb supra made 210hp untuned, with a stock DP. Earls made 232 on 5 psi. the only mk4 i have ridden in pulled as hard in 4th gear as it did in second. Supras may not be the end all top of the top car of the world, but they are far from shit.
If you can't appreciate ALL cars, then your not a REAL car enthusiast. |

What the fuck are you talking about? Nissan exhaust bearings are way more expensive than Toyotas. I've had mine replaced at Canadian tire three times on my 240sx.
GTRs are shitty anyways. They don't compare to Supras, and I am a Nissan guy. My buddy put some headers on his Supra and some iridium spark plugs and he's putting out like 600 horsepowers. |

supply and demand, supras are expensive because people want them. And around here its partially due to the lack of them. porsches are more common than mk4 supras, at least from what i see driving around, not to bash the porsche, but if you go to the states you can find a turbo mk4 for a lot cheaper than here generally. mk3's, like earl said, maitenance, part of being 15+ year old sports car, lol.
Adams neon will spank any supra in the club though, hands down, no question. hell, even next year after a bunch of us get more work done i still think Adam will win. |

The reality of it is that the Supra is great at being a Supra. Once you drive one you either get it or you don't, but I expect most cars are like that. That’s why they come in different sizes & shapes.
Like any other car out there you get what you pay for and the wallet is the only limit to who owns whom.
