Carbon fibre hoods in winter - Click HERE for Original Thread

energie
Just curious how carbon fibre stands in our winters, do they become very fragile? do they discolor from salt? and how many people leave their Cfhoods on during winter. thanks.

I hear if you buy a low quality cf hood there is a chance it will bend in shape from the cold. Either way why take the chance? Take the 10-15 mins out of your day to take it off and put back the stock hood. There is no reason to have your cf hood chipped during the winter. If you are stubborn and want to keep it on then I suggest getting the thing protected with 3M guard.

Since a lot of sled guys use them temp wouldn't be the main concern but like DelSoln said rock chips would probably be the main killer.
