Hi Charles,

I would have come except I was fighting and negotiating with my Avalon. It seems to love the passanger side drive axle too much and it does not want to part with it. I keep trying to tell it "new is good and soon you will forget about the old one" yet, it still does not want to let go. It has sat in the garage over night looking somewhat dilapidated. Tonight I may be able to reason with it.

Hi Icydude,

We tried alot of things. The drivers side came out fine, the passanger side is still locked in and will not move for what ever reason.

I have removed the locking nut and also the snap ring. According to the TSRM it should just come out after that. It is not co-operating with us. I am going to attempt it again later. I am starting to think that perhaps the axle is still locked in place some how by what ever the locking bolt had connected to. I have a few ideas that I will try out. If all else fails, I will admit defeat and put it back together and just take it to a shop for the one axle. The other axle was simple to do.

Please see pg 21 on the link provided, PG 24 is the only explanation on how to remove it.
