After my deck and amp/sub got installed, I drove my car and noticed that a whining sound was coming from my speakers and got louder as I stepped on the gas pedal. Does anyone know what is causing this?
The noise goes away when i disconnect the amp/sub. My battery is relocated to the trunk with the wire running along the right side of the car. The RCA cables are ran from the deck to the amp/sub in the trunk on the left side of the car. Power and ground wires just go from battery in the trunk to sub/amp.
Any help is welcome, Thanks |

| Its your alternator that is making the noise. Get some better wires or insulation (forget what its called), and it should solve your problem. |

Better RCA wires or better battery relocation wires?
My RCA wires are the cheaper ones from futureshop. They came in a kit with fuse and power cable.
The wire i used to relocate my battery were just 4gauge wire from Home Depot. |

| my speakers were whining too, and it got louder the faster i got. but it only happened sometimes. i soldered my speaker wires together but didn't tape them so i thought that could be it and low and behold it was. so i just put electrical tape on all my connections and it went away. |

| Don't forget you can also purchase some inline noise filters as well. |

Yea i tried moving the RCA away from the power cables as possible but it still has the noise.
Where can I get inline noise filter and where would I put it? or can I get something to insolate my battery wire better? |

I used to get that, sometimes it's called a ground loop.
Check the lengths of your grounds, the shorter the better. Also make sure your power wire isn't running next to your RCAs.
I ran el-cheepo dollor store RCA's with no whine. I have better ones now though. |
