| My car wont start any more, at first we thought it was the battery, but it was bought brand new this spring. The car doesnt start up now, even when you try to using booster cables. I thought it woulda been the starter or alternator, but this is a problem i never came across. When i try to start it, i hear clicking sounds from my ecu. Anyone know what the problem would be? |

| Bad connection between your battery and starter is my guess. |
|
|
| Wookey |
| it could be the started relay. And as stated above, make sure your battery connections are on all the way and tight. |

| my pops and i checked all the connections and made sure it was tight, guess the only thing i can do is tow it to a shop to get it checked out. |

| thats definately your battery. Get it replaced and it will start up. My mom's sienna was doing it and she was going to be late for work. so i changed her battery for mine and it started. Needless to say i was without my supra for a day but at least i had a day off from school :D |

| Does it lose power when its clicking? Could be something as simple as a bad connection to the battery. If you have a voltmeter, test for voltage right on the posts, and then try the wires and see if you are still getting ~12V. Since you said even with boosting it didnt start, it may be the starter. |

then its your starter cause if it aint the battery, itll be the starter. does it crack at all because if it does then it can possibly be your alternator. |

Do all the simple stuff first:
Pull the battery cables off the battery.
Clean the battery terminals.
Clean the battery cables. Reconnect tightly.
Try to start it.
No?
Trace the negative cable to the ground in the engine compartment. Disconnect, clean and reconnect.
Try to start it.
No?
Disconnect the cable at the starter, clean and reconnect.
Make sure all the other connections at the starter are good, clean and tight, and the other end of the starter ground is also tight.
No?
Temporarily try another battery that you know is good (ie, is in another car that starts).
Yes?
Replace the battery. Even new batteries can be defective.
No?
Replace the starter. |

| Clicks indicate a bad starter solenoid....usually an integral part of the starter. |

maybe the post in the keyswitch is broken or bad. try swapping out the keyswitch if that's something you can do.
there might be a relay between the key and the starter too, find that out and change it if there is one . for $5 bucks it's a most likely cause |

| my best bet would be too bench test the starter...take it out...put power to the positive and ground the case..then bridge the power accross to the silinoid post...it should engage and spin..if not...replace it... |
