Hi there- sorry to post about such an apparently common ailment for these cars, but i'm now at my wits end and would appreciate some feedback!
My 87 FC has the infamous 3800 rpm hesitation and grounding the ecu and Pressure sensor has yielded no help... My searching on the net has led me to think that my next course of action should be resoldering the ECU... any suggestions about where or who to see in the Edmonton area? Or possible places to look before having to resolder? Gracias. |

| i will do that, and i understand what ur saying, but i go from full power below 3800-4000 to having no power above that. Like you'd imagine having about 50% of the available power overall... and the car runs fine below 4k... |

hmmm the secondaries might be plugged and not flowing at all
was this car stored for a long time? |

yeah it sat last winter, before that I'm not sure, as i have only had the car for 4 months. I've replaced the cat, new fuel filter, run a tonne of injector cleaner thinking that i might have had clogged injectors... The thing is that power delivery isn't even intermittant above 4k. I know soldering was an issue with the CPU, i wonder if the ECUs were also prone to cracking... Maybe the secondaries should be pulled and cleaned...

| thanks- i guess i might try and eliminate any mechanical variables as well! Your price on injector cleaning is nice BTW! |

| That is cheap for injector cleaning. I remember spending several hundred to get the injectors on my SHO done, and they didn't paint them either (but it was "supersonic" cleaning, if that makes any difference. |
