I am not sure if this is a repost but if not you may want to know this.

On October 31, Mark Russinovich posted his discovery of a root kit—a cloaked file that had been inserted on to his computer's hard drive. Cloaked root kit files are popular tools used by malevolent hackers, so Russinovich was curious about how the files he detected had entered his computer. It came from Get Right With the Man, a Sony DRM-protected disc Russinovich had purchased and played on his computer. When he attempted to remove the hidden files, Russinovich lost the ability to use his CD drive.
Hummm....In other words, it ain't malware if it's done by a big corporation—or at least that's the way other big corporations like Microsoft and Symantec seemed to play it.
Trust no one and boycott sony for Holiday spending and they will get the message. |

Not sure but it is probaly the base code for:
I searched for both the product name and Aries.sys, but came up empty. However, the fact that the company sells a technology called XCP made me think that maybe the files I’d found were part of some content protection scheme. I Googled the company name and came across this article, confirming the fact that they have deals with several record companies, including Sony, to implement Digital Rights Management (DRM) software for CDs.

| I haven't bought any Sony products since they kicked my dog, so this doesn't really affect me. |
