Richard Burns dies at 34 from a Brain Tumor.

This guy was the top of the heap before Loeb came in and dominated everything. The only Englishman to win the WRC.

RIP, man.

I know. There seem to be a lot of humble drivers in the WRC, though. Burns was certainly one of them. Even on the worst of days, I never saw him loose his cool. I can't say the same for a few of them (Sainz, Gronholm, Solberg, these guys aren't the best losers). I think the most negative thing I ever heard come from Burns mouth was 'We picked the wrong tyre'.

Didnt he die a few weeks ago?

He will be missed. I loved his typical British understatement. At one event (was it Australia? Not sure), he came into a stage finish corner way too fast (he was in 5th gear, about 190kmph, when he should have been 3rd gear, 130kmph). He tried to hang onto it, but he rolled the car about 9 times, bashing along into trees, rolling the car up into a little ball.

The two of them walked away relatively unhurt. His only comment? "Well, I came into it a bit too fast, didn't I?"
