I took the air pump out of my car and plugged off the air hoses as I was told to do if I wanted to take the air pump out, it was running fine untill a couple days after I took it out and now its at fast idle and its almost like there's a vacume leak because it idle's erratically between 1.5 and 2 thousand rpm. Would taking the air pump out make it idle funny? Should I be putting the air pump back in? Any suggestions or comments on what it might be?
Thanks
Grant Gillies

What year/model is your car?

Do you still have catalytic converters?

Did you double check all the air hoses?

I have an 83rx7 with no air pump and it works fine so you dont nead the air pump. :)

Hey Grant!! It's Curt. I've pulled my air pump over a year ago and have only had erratic idle since my new motor. it happens every now and then. Take it to a shop or let me play with it for a while. I fixed mine by playing with the lean and rich and idle adjustments. ????
