Door latch - Click HERE for Original Thread

SilverFire
OK, does anyone have a good drawing of how the pushrod connects onto the outside door handle? The FSM & Haynes manual are useless.

Also, is the door latch metal or plastic? It LOOKS metal, but it felt like it broke, which doesn't make sense. Makes more sense that the pushrod just came off.

If ya didn't figure out by now, My driver's side door won't open from the outside. I've taken the trim off, and figured out that the handle isn't moving the pushrod. Unfortunately, I can't see if it's broken or just off. Too tight with the window in there. I MIGHT be able to see if I take the window out. I might have to take the handle off too, but seeing as it won't start right now(see the other post - I'm working on it too) I don't want to do it on my pad out in the cold and maybe leave it while I track down any parts. I can work in my dad's heated garage, but I need to get it running first.

Thanks!

Go to www.iluvmyrx7.com go to things to read (2nd Gen) & go to either the service manual or body a parts fiche. They both have good diagrams.
