Winter Series Autocross December 18th - Click HERE for Original Thread

Tracker
Registration is open for the rest of our Winter Series Events (all five)

Third event (of six) is scheduled for Sunday, December 18th 2005. This is an OPEN EVENT to non-members of our club. Tell your friends, neighbours, co-workers, etc...

Because we can't control the weather, this event runs regardless of the track conditions (if we can endure it). Pick your tires and let's go. In the past, we had winter events with perfect dry tarmac, snow covered track, ice patches, etc... and everybody had fun!

Members: $20.00 (including members of other clubs affiliated to ASN/WCMA)

Non-Members: $30.00

Limit of Participants: 40

Registration open at Karelo.com - Click Here to register online!!!

December 11th :blink: is the last day to send me the info to get access to the base. If you don't make the list you won't get to the base!!!

If you can't do your registration online (or want to just spectate, please download the form from HERE and send it to me rx7events@telus.net

If you want to go, don't wait until the last minute to sign up. Send your info now to get access to the base.

Thanks,
Tracker

I'll be there, I just have to find something to drive. NOT THE TRUCK!!! (how much for an Enterprise car rental?!)

To everyone that's unsure if they want to go, we have to have ten people by this upcoming Sunday or the event will be a no go. Monday morning is the final day we can cancel with the base.

Also I thought I would post it here that the club is going to have the mid-month social at BPs right after the event to BS & figure out how you could get a damage deposit back from a rental car with a worn out clutch.

is the track setup going to be as high speed as the NECC event? that will be madness in the snow!!

I don't know how fast the NECC event was, but we are bound by the WCMA Solo 2 rules, and we don't exceed the recommended speed for straights and corners regardless of the surface.

Also, for winter events we keep the track fairly open with big escape areas (for the eventual spin) and low speed on corners... still lots of fun, because of the snow! You can drift at 30-40Km/h if you know how to transfer weight properly!

See you there!

Or ... at much higher speeds, given an sti and an utter disregard for one's health and future capacity to intake air on one's own power.

Hey Darryl,

I know, I know... what I meant was that you don't need high speeds to drift in snow and ice... makes it less scary and more controllable (at least for me)

Are you going??? I didn't receive your registration yet!!!

I'll probably skip the first one.

Next time though, I think we're planning on bringing two minivans out, the venerable pacifica and subaru's answer to same, the tribeca.

Event is Cancelled!

===========================
...we cannot support the December 18th event as there will be no military members to man range control as all are now on Christmas leave from December 16 to January 5. We will have to push this back until the new year.
===========================

Didn't they know that when I booked the events FOUR MONTHS AGO????

Anyway, I am still figuring out what we are going to do, more news to come.

Thanks
Tracker

Candian military? We're lucky if they know which end of the rifle to point downfield.

*ducks* :)

Our military training beats U.S. Army by a long shot. Our troops are in the top 3 countries for best military training. Only problem is we just don't have enough troops.

Shitty news... but the lack of snow would've been the death of my winter tires.

Keep us posted!
