Hey,

I'm getting to the age where i can get into nightclubs etc. I was wondering what the best places to go for House and Trance music would be. Now i know that its not huge here in clubs but i'm sure there has to be a few places around that supply the fans. Also don't really want any dodgy places for that matter.

Thanks
-Matt

In case a straight guy took his advice seriously, the roost is a gay bar (or so I hear) :p

You're not over 18???
damn...never would've guessed!

Turbo_Civic92
diamonds all the way :D other than that clubs around edmonton are getting dangerious. I've always enjoyed Essy's down by kingsway mall

kypraio
I know what the roost is btw and yes turning 18 on the 8th. There's honestly no places? Not even a lounge to sit down and listen to house music?

Turbo_Civic92
look down whyte ave but the only problem is now its cold so whyte ave is as enjoyable

RacerGirl
Sapphire is good for house music. Luke Morrison spins on friday nights and Tripswitch spins saturday nights.

I don't know, I think i'm gonna be very disappointed. I just got back from the Greek Islands and went clubbing there where basically every place plays trance and house. Age also doesn't matter there, but i think its gonna be very dissapointing going here. Oh well. I just like to hear the music in a good atmosphere(not in my bedroom or car) thats what i'm really looking for.

Escape useto play trance a year and a half ago with major DJ's on thursday nights (I went to tiesto when he was in town there), but now every club plays rap and hiphop

The Globe is good, its got no cover and usually alot of girls.

bah.. ncs here suck major ass..

Ezzies = easies , collage girls who hang out there with their buddies and get hammered

Rum = Hoochies who want to dance and be noticed

Escape = Occasionally gets some good people, i understand its under new management but the Sat night house parties used to be gr8

Globe = super hot, super packed, shitty music

Union = Super gay, super clicky and more rock music (the bear and krock frequent there as opposted to 96X and bounce at the other places)

Standard = much the same as rum, little friendlier and gets less packed but good luck getting in on a busy night (the vip line has heaters at least..)

Bar wild = hot, packed, grungy, discusting bathrooms ( i know only a chick would say that but its sick) dirty glasses, dirty djs, dirty skanks.. to sum it up.. dirty

the Y = bunch of candy kids spinning around on e

Suburbs = when you catch it not on goth night then its alright (nothing wrong with goths but their company is sometimes a little odd) excellent for house on other nights.. lots of the liquid dancers go there

Druid = losing thecroud it once had.. wont be that busy on most nights but the drink prices are still high and the company/atmosphere isnt amazing

Liquid lounge = easy pick up for the asian community

Funky BUddha = hot, busy, but the only bar on whyte that i ever have enjoyed going to

Armory = much the same as standard

Iho = small, crowded, hot.. gr8 bartending tho!

Cowboys = slut convention thursdays used to be gr8 for the boys.. cheap draft and hoes galore

Palomino = underage drinking much?

Decadence = nota bad place for house music.. but im always fucking cold whenever im there

lets see.. .what the hell else am i missing?

cant remember.. may edit the post later when my head can keep this shit together

Turbo_Civic92

Hey no prob.. ive basically been everywhere.. I'm a personal fan of the lounges. I used to frequent the Motion Notion events but i guess ive sorta grown out of it, but not my appreciation of good house music (tripswitch and SMTrax are amazing)

lol.. just my opinion but they're generally well conceived. I keep thinking im missing another big one.. but maybe its just b/c all the bars keep changing owners/management/names .. lol

bluecargirl666
Aha! I remembered I think what it was that was buggin me.. but its closed now.. lol

The Joint! lol, used to be a big place for grps of ppl(self proclaimed gangs???) and never really recovered from the whole gang/racial fights.. i liked the idea tho, 2 main dancefloors, tables/chairs evrywhere, pool tables huge bars.. Was great when it opened for haloween and there was a huge mixed crowd there.

yeah.. im done :p
