WTB: Clutch - Click HERE for Original Thread

Hey,

A friend of mine just bought a n/a s4 rx7 and it requires a new clutch. He's alittle strapped for cash right now and just wants to get it back on the road, if anyone could lemme know where he could get a decent deal on a stock replacment or a cheeper upgraded one that would be awsome.

thanks,
Joe

if you got the time too wait for it too ship (approx. 1-2 weeks) i would say try ebay,

i got a stage 1 performance clutch for my n/a s4 for about $180 shipped

and you can get an oem one off of ebay for about $130-$140 shipped

otherwise you will be looking at about $200 +gst at a place like part source.....

are you doing the clutch job yourself or getting a shop too do it???

JoeNagy
ok cool thanks for the help, did your stage 1 clutch come with a pilot bushing and release bearing aswell or did it just come with pressure plate and disc??

He'll do the clutch job himself, were both apprentice mechanics thus the lack of money lol :p

ccthompson
yep it came with everything.....

Clutch
Pressure Plate
Pilot Bearing
Release bearing
and a Alignment Tool

lol

o and buy the way the one for $200 at partsource is an OEM one...

so you can get a performance stage 1 on ebay for less then a stock oem one locally :D

dont buy an oem one. save your money and get one with better clamping power. i did what your friend did, just wanted to get it running. i regret it every day i want to drive hard. the stock pplate and disk cannot grip hard enough to launch the car good. when schools over im getting something better.

if you see exedy ones on ebay those are the oem ones that mazda sells.

Don't forget to check the flywheel for flatness & preferablely machine it. If you don't have a flat surface you'll never get it to hook-up to it's full potential plus you can develop some wierd vibrations. OEM clutch discs are usually pretty good about not wearing the flywheel that much though.

I've only heard good things about Abbey Road and Ottwell. If you are a club member, you get 10% off as well.
