no, i wouldnt buy it, mainly because its still a focus.
for the same money id look at importing a cosworth escort RS, or a cosworth sierra RS (go look it up) or something rarer.
also, that focus looks like goat ass, much like most of them. |

Wasn't the Cosworth out before the focus was? And the Cosworth was never brought over to North America.... They are pretty sweet, i would take one if someone gave it to me!

cosworth has been around since the 60s, they make fords high end racing engines, and theyve done vehicle packages, like the cosworth focus, sierra, and escorts, among others.
the sierra is an xr4ti, just with different badges... not much to change, unless you wanted the cossie version, then you gotta source an AWD drivetrain, and as far as that goes GOOD LUCK... lol |

xr4ti has (i believe) a ford 2.3 turbo engine
the cosworth had a different engine... not sure... not worth researching.. but i believe it was a 2.0, turbo charged, that made a LOT more power than the merkur.. (~300, vs 175 in the merkur)
so, it was more than just the AWD drivetrain...
plus, the sierra has one big back window, xr4ti has 2 weird looking windows on the back |

if your meaning the rear quarter windows... well, the last british mag i read with a sierra had the split quarters.
as for the hatch window, the xr4ti has a double decker spoiler, which could look like two windows, but its just a plain old hatch.
and not to be rude, but drivetrain includes the engine, as well as tranny and differentials, so i didnt bother including details about the cossie engine, although i think your right, its about 2 liters, dohc, turboed, 11.5:1 compression or something nutty like that.
would be one hell of a fun car, i think they put something like 300-350 to the ground through all four. :) |
