Personal Care - Click HERE for Original Thread

I was just wondering about people in the city (I'm from a small town) if lots of guys are getting things like chests, eye brows, all that kinda stuff waxed. I started getting my eyebrows waxed about 2 years ago, and recently got my hair straightened (I hate my curly ass hair) but in the town I'm from its not really well recieved. Girls think its cool (which is what really matters doesn't it?) but even friends of mine that I've known for a long time seem to look at me in a different sense. Just wanted some other peeps input on this.

It's your body. Do what you want.

SilverNeonRacer
Your old pals prolly think your turning a little :limpwrist

Personally I don't care, what other people think about me.

I live in a small town, it's mainly either end of the extreme, red neck mullets or total "pretty boy" with a few of us in the middle.

I dont do any of the above, but Im not a hairy guy. But if I was?
I would probably wax/nair my chest/back/ass/eyebrows.

If I had long curly hair, like you have, I would get a haircut.

I have a small amount of chest hair, pubic hair(treasure trail), but I keep it all trimmed, but leave some to stay masculine aswell.

Just my 2bits.

heh ^-- TMI

Me personally.. I get a haircut cause i like the low maintenance of a buzz, I trim my mustash beard every once and a while cause I get looking like a bush man, I'd shave it right off, but the wife doesn't like that.

For the rest of it... God put it there.. so I'll assume it's there for a purpose.

Besides, I'm married, whom do I have to impress?

All the girls on your webcam... CMON!

I try to keep everything below the neck trimmed. Apparantly women prefer 1/4" hair length "down there". I keep the hair on the top of my head really short. This is because it is dissapearing as I get older. I sport the goatee and sometimes if it's cold enough, a full bushman beard.

I'm the kind of guy who HAS to start the day off with a hot, hot shower. This dries the shit out of my skin, so I have to use a soap with some sort of redeeming quality. My ex has me hooked on Mango Madness from the body shop. I use whatever shampoo is on sale and smells good. My favorite is Outrageous mostly because I had an ex that used it, and I love the smell.

Deodarant/cologne? I've started using Old Spice Red Alert for a BO stick, and it has a really pleasent scent that lasts all day. When I am wearing it, I don't do cologne at all. For a night out, CK Eternity deodarant, and a spray or two of either Gaultier Le Male or Givanchi Pi.

I don't need hair products, but when I did, anything American Crew worked for me.

I'm not rediculous when it comes to personal care, but I like keeping myself clean and presentable. I care about my appearance, and I try to let it show.

Biolage Shampoo and conditioner,

Clean and Clear body wash-- I have a physically demanding job.

Axe bodywash, on occasion.

Axe/Tag deodorant.

Swiss army/polo/armani/hugo boss cologne

Biolage Hair Gel, or dipitty doo if I run out.

RacerGirl
froma girl's point of view. we like our men well groomed. if you have a unibrow, please make it into two eyebrows. A little chest hair is good, too much, you look like a bear, but some girls like it. back hair is ewww, and trim the pubic hair, it's much easier on us.
cologne is good, but dont take a shower in it, and make sure it is something that works with you. some guys can pull off one cologne while another guy cannot pull off the same one.
almost every guy i know wears armani cologne (no offence aaron, although your swiss army is amazing on you) so try something a little unique.
do your hair, make sure you moisturize if your hands are really dry. girls prefer not to be touched with really rough, dry hands.

Markgase2000
I only get one kind of trims (;) )

The rest I do when I feel like it my gf dont complain I just get googly eyes in all my forms

I got a hairy chest and belly. I think it looks silly but when I go swimming girls always say it looks hawt! I dont get it they must be dislexic or some shit

oldraven
If God wants me to be a Yeti, so be it. :) I would avoid the unibrow, though.

But as far as body hair is concerned, at least it keeps me warm when I'm streaking in February.

KRS-13
Yeah its not like I go crazy with it all, I prefer to have 2 eyebrows, and I prefer longer hair so I got it straightened. I used to just get it cut short but it gets old after 19 years. It's not like I'm a hairy guy so I don't need my chest waxed or anything. To me its just personal perspective on what you want to do with yourself, different tastes for different people I guess.

If the girls don't say anything about this, I will.

IF I AM NOT WITHIN 12 INCHES OF YOU, I SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SMELL YOU.

Every girl I dated has said that I wear cologne properly. I think that the general concensus is that if it's don'e right, it becomes more of a smelling good for your girl thing, rather than a smelling good for all the other girls thing.

I usually do one spray on the chest and a 1/2 spray on the back of the neck.

S2KPWR
chest, wrist... rub together... half spray back of neck.

Fuck what a femy topic.

The key is to spray the cologne into the air, then step into it. It allows for more a dispersion on you, rather than just focussed on one area. As well, it takes away the overpowering scent of it from a couple feet away.

It then becomes more of a detail, rather than a focus. Which is where it should be.

turbo_dave
I think it is becoming more acceptable and even expected for guys to take better care of themselves especially with shows like Queer eye for the Straight Guy and magazines like GQ and details.

to answer your question, I had a really hairy chest and abdomen so i clean it up every so often with do it yourself wax strips (BTW they do hurt like a bitch; the first time at least).

I just started tanning. I use moistureizer. I wear cologne. I try to keep my wardrobe fashionable. I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine.Yeah I know:limpwrist but it's worth it.

midnite
i find 1/2 a spray of cologne is enough for me. i like it to be subtle.

Flex
I am so glad Im not a hairy person. I barely even have hair on my arms and legs.

I know a guy that when he takes off hs shirt.......it looks likes hes still wearing one.............

I take good care of myself.....clean and so forth......I think its fine for a guy to do that.....and I know your lady will apprecitate it to.

RacerGirl
Personally, I cannot stand hairy men. I like to be able to run my hands along them and feel skin.
definatly agree with midnite. subtle is the best, when you have to be right up close to the guy to smell his cologne, and then it mixes with his own scent. smells incrediable.

timsthetim
jeez guys,:banghead: as long as you don't stink and have some half ass reminiscently good smell, who the fuck cares, cheap shampoo, cheap soap, axe spray deoderant, wham bam thank you maam.
unless your a hairy manbeast then don't wax, that's:limpwrist

Or a swimmer or a bike messanger....

Swimmers wax/shave cause it makes them faster in the water, and some bike messangers/off road racers shave their legs cause cuts and scrapes heal better or something...

timsthetim
ahha touche good sir
