My opinion on the best place to take a girl for the first date always gets some silly reactions until I explain it.
I've only done this once, and it was with a girl that I had an immense crush on. The extra effort because of that may have made it work better, however, it's still a great place to take a date.
What is this place, you ask?
West Edmonton Mall!
"Dammit, that place sucks!"
"You can't park anywheres near a door!"
"What, are you buying her things for a date?"
Nope. That is all false.
Why is this such a great date place?
Not because there is so much to do there, but because there is so much to do there that no other guys have thought about.
The situation was as such: I had a crush on her since she started, which was about a year before. We had talked on occasion, but that was about it.
I got the balls up to ask her out. My premise? Mothers Day shopping. That in itself can't be wrong. The girl at this point is thinking nothing but "AWWWW"
So she agreed. WEM for all it's annoyances, is actually a fun place to be. I realized this after delivering supplies to all the restaurants there for a year.
These are the things you can do at the mall that you probably don't know of:
Sea Life Caverns - You need to take a girl here. Do crazy shit like naming the penguins, sit and talk about the sea turtles for an hour, watch the sharks get fed. The girl I was with had no idea that this even existed.
Pretend you are a tourist - Make obvious edmontonians take your picture inside of the bronze whale! Talk in gibberish to each other!
Park in places you usually aren't able to - Never mind, I'll never give that info out, ever. Just know that I park closer to a door than you ever will. When you find these places, showing the girl the back door route you take into the mall is fantastic. Getting "lost" in the basement is even better.
The bottom line is that WEM is a great date location. there are places to eat, things to see, rides to go on, movie theatres, night clubs and if the date goes perfectly, there is even a hotel. |

When I was younger and went to West Ed on a first-date type thing, we never usually made it out of the car in the dark corner of the parking lot (Until security came that is). ;)
I don't get the "basement" thing. I've been through it because of work I needed to do, but I was constantly stopped for identification it seemed.....How would you be able to just stroll through? |

i love wem there are tons of things peopel dotn think of there to do. and jsut to people watch is great hah. MAN i seen some funny acting people.

About the basement, there is a basement level wherever there is a first level. I don't get asked for ID there becuase I know the mall employees and security very well. They know my enthusiasm for urban exploration, and that I am responsible enough not to graffiti my name everywheres.
Also, the person who mentioned the zoo, that is another great first date location. I get to give the insider tour there too, as they are another customer of mine! The nocturnal animal area is awesome, should be the last area you go to see though! ;) |

I tend to agree with the statement. If not west ed.. a first date needs to be about talkin and laughin and doin something silly to open boundries. For me it was a Car show.. not like import show with tons of models and too much noise to do anything, it was the general auto show. You just walk around talkin and pointin out cars you hate or things you like and talk about stuff in general.
I think West ed has a lot of things that normal malls dont, but ive done window shoppin as a date or a double date kinda thing and it works out great... just make fun quirky comments and just flirt your ass off its great fun. |

Le fins du monde , maudite , trois pistols , blance de chambly , ect... Chamblys Unibrew micro brewery wow the champaignes of beer :thumbup: maudite is my fave aswell. The drink of the damned :)
