High Compression 4 Port? - Click HERE for Original Thread

ozzmodan
I've heard lots of turbo 6-port conversions but I was thinking since I have my car apart, would putting high compression rotors into a 4 port engine yield a good power gain?

My logic is if you have higher compression rotors, you should be able to produce better torque at lower RPMs & should also have better intercooler efficiency since you don't have to run high boost. The only thing you would have to ensure is that you run high octane gas & perhaps octane boost.

Has anyone tried this idea out, could it even work?

From what I have experienced with my snowmobile, turbocharged
670 cc two cycle, higher hp was made with lower compression
with the same boost, a loss of low end power was noticed
but the gain on the top end was much better.
As well the rx2 seems to be making more power with the
turbo rotors than it did with the n/a rotors.
If you want more power do some porting and turn the boost up
a little.
So does this mean that you have / are pulling apart the engine?

The ENTIRE car is getting pulled apart & rebuilt including the engine, transmission. differential, interior & body. Then basically I'm inspecting & replacing modifying or reassembling everything as I get the time/money to do it.

Here's the list of stuff I plan to do so far with the engine bay:

I am using stock or RA 2mm apex seals, BNR stage 2 turbo, Knightsport TMIC & exhaust, Viton hosing, Vinspeed cold air box w/ headlight cover intake & K&N cone filter, Koyo Radiator, Ultra spark plug wires, NGK Iridium Plugs (not sure what heat range yet), clean & balance injectors, Thermopellet mod, fuel pump rewire, mild street porting, thicken the water jacket wall that sometimes cracks, replace all seals/small internals, powdercoat everything either blue or chrome, have tons of guages to look at & I'm still trying to find good info on the re-amemiya exhaust header to see if it has any real benefit.

I just don't want to miss anything when I do this because when it's put together I don't want to see something a year down the road that I would have wanted to do. So if anybody has any ideas that might fit in with this kind of build that would be great.

Kyle
