Your speedo only goes to 120? And it's a German car? wtf!
Chromey
P.S. Cool transplant man, keep us updated on how it runs! |

Yeah, its the stock Instument panel, haha, my engine revs to 7200 and I can bury the speedo, hahaha
Keep in mind that speedo is in MILES per hour. |

Really? Looks to me like it's in KPH.
60km/h is roughly 40mph, and that's about what it looks like on the speedo.......have you been driving around at 110mph on the local highways? :D |

| NM I just looked closer and saw the mph at the bottom, why are the kph numbers so spread out? |

| looks good...what kinda whp your looking to get? And how come went with the 2.0, besides displacement? |

here is a closer look at the speedo, hahaha

2.0L 16V offers the best performance with mods compared to the rest of the motors.
It was the highest output motor offered in 1992, that is a direct bolt in.
Doing a 1.8T or VR6 is conciderably more expensive.
Also, the 2.0 16V has the option of the sport cams (which I have) offering HUGE gains compared to cams for other motors and other automakers.
Its also nice to have a great power to weight ratio.
14.5lb per hp is not too bad.
All in all its a great starting point, and is easy to turbo, next years plans ;) |

| If you had to guess, how much power do you expect to crank out at the dyno? |
|
|
| Benny |
| around 160@the crank. Torque should be about the same as HP. |
|
|
| Benny |
| Its not a huge amount of power, but in a small car it makes a big difference. |
|
|
| uncle ben |
| that thing must weigh like what? 2300lbs? |
|

Hey man, I saw a brand new turbo out of a 1.8T on Ebay for like $99!!! Pretty damn good buy!
Turboage!
Although I thought I saw a buy outright option for like $300......who knows what the reserve is at....

hahaha, yeah, but whats funny is that in a car that came with a 2.0L 16V, they still had all those wires, thats why VW's are notorious for electrical probs. haha As long as you keep are of the car, they run great. |
